I asked LSBS who administers their course. They said Zona Verde. I contacted Zona Verde to double check that their certifications count for citizenship, and they said they have no PLA courses running or planned at all. Now I’m totally confused…
Hmmm frankly I just assumed since they’re an Edpropt partner - the LSBS and Edpropt admins were communicating back and forth about my situation - and lots of folks have been certified through Edpropt that they would be fine.
That’s what I thought too but I wanted to confirm everything myself since I have time. Zona Verde was so adamant they are doing NO courses so I don’t think they are even working with Edupro. I’m hoping this is just a misunderstanding, and Edupro/LSBS switched administrators but did not inform their coordinators.
It is quite intense and moves along very quickly. 150 hours is simply not a lot of time to cover all the material that is required. how “hard” are the courses? I don’t know how to answer that really, the answer is relative. I found the oral comprehension stuff really difficult.
figure two hours a week of self study, 6-9 hours in-class.
lsbs used zonaverde in the past. I cannot speak to now. my lawyer accepted the zonaverde-issued certificate without question.
I suspect the discrepancy is that zonaverde is providing the platform but not marketing the class. zonaverde’s primary market appears to be corporate education and the PLA stuff is a sidelight.
I can tell you from my bad experience DO NOT do a program that you can’t follow the trail to the PLA certificate
Can you elaborate on what you mean? Did you do a class where the certificate was not accepted?
What is the best way to confirm a certificate works?
Basically you need to find out as to which school is going to issue the certificate (because all our favourite online providers discussed here are not accredited ‘schools’ by themselves). Then you check if that school is included in the official government roster (there was a link posted some time back on this forum). Finally once you have started the course it’s best to obtain the certificate of enrollment so you see for real the name of the school and the course you’re on.
Thanks! This is the link I have been viewing to check if a school is accredited:
Is this the right place to look?
Yes, I believe it is.
Pls let me know if anyone is interested in joining a semi-private course via EduSetPT. I am looking at putting my son ( he has a learning disability) so we are looking for private or semi private course. EduSetPT offers the 150 hour A2 certificate and the offer you to do 25 hours self study- so the online course time with the teacher is 125 hours (plus your 25 self-study). Their accredited partner is Escola Profissional de Tondela. My son works FT so they found us a tutor for saturday morning classes from 0800-1100cst.14h-17hLIS time. The cost is €7K for one peron or €4K/each for 2 people. We would love to have another person in the semi-private if we can find someone. Please message me if interested.
Hi, My son (19) also has a learning disability and I’ve been trying to schedule a class for him (and me) with Edusept.
And saaturday morning classes (we are in NYC) could work for us/him
Hmm…lets chat
Has anyone looked more into GetA2 (https://www.geta2.online/)? I know that was discussed last fall and again in January. They say they are associated with the Escola Profissional de Tondela, which is part of the government database, and sent me a sample certificate.
I’d love a more self-paced/self-directed course and they are one of the few that offer that, but am suspicious given there is not much written about them and their website has a number of spelling mistakes.
I was also interested in this but haven’t got very far in verifying them. Can’t find any independent reviews and did note their Instagram account is based in the Philippines
And what seems to be the problem with this sample?
I would be concerned the company sent you a certificate that included a person’s date of birth, country of birth, and passport number (twice!) along with the certificate number. I guess they decided to white out some information at least??
I thought the same; not a dealbreaker in and of itself but raised a yellow flag along with the typos on the website. I asked my lawyer to take a look at the certificate because I’ve never seen one before. Curious if anything looks off to this group!
This certificate looks almost exactly like the one from inovinter - Centro de Formacao e de Inovacao Technologica. Do they offer the same type of certificates?
