They are a broker in the same way that Ciplemaster is I believe. They have access to all kinds of courses - the cheaper ones with rigid structures, and smaller more flexible ones. I think they were recommended on this site or in the whatsapp group. I’ve come across lots of people who have reported doing courses arranged through them. It’s still very expensive, but was the only way my husband could do it due to his highly variable work roster. Yes he could have just sat the exam but it’s definitely more than 150 hours work to pass it.
CipleMaster actually isn’t a broker, they hire their teachers directly which is what makes them as flexible as they are. I’m curious to see if EduSet has started doing the same thing, because a service that offers the same upsides as CipleMaster without the sticker shot would be really valuable. I just want a little more information before I start pointing people with similar needs to EduSet.
I can confirm that EduSetPT has a flexible 1-1 course that is significantly less expensive than Ciplemasters. The above quoted price range is accurate.
I’m sharing my experience in case it’s useful to others. Since I am fluent in Spanish, I chose to take the CIPLE exam. I did prepared diligently. I took lessons with a tutor that I found on iTalki. The cost was less than $35 per hour. I also took a 2-week intensive course at Portuguese Connection in Lisbon. I sat for the CIPLE exam in Aveiro in February and received my results yesterday. I passed with a muito bom. Overall, this was more economical for me than CipleMaster, but I think being fluent in Spanish or French is a massive head start.
No they’re not hiring directly I don’t believe. The enrollment confirmation is with a specific named school that can provide PLA courses.
