I really can’t tell. I don’t think it matters where your did your biometrics since, AFAIK, the card is printed by Casa da Moeda. It seems the cards are printed and then sent out in batches. Hence it is really anyone’s guess when it will be processed and received. “3 months maximum” is certainly not a rule. Sorry to disappoint you.

Our biometrics were done March 13 and status on portal changed to “transferred “. What is next?

I assume that you paid the cards fees during the biometrics appointment then nothing to do now except waiting to receive your card(s) in 4 weeeks to 4 months. Congrats

Hey friends, I want to use this active thread to get your attention, since I invested in a fund a few years back recommended by my lawyer which I now have some doubts. The fund is called Monarque Funds. I did it through millennium bcp, but it is said on the bank app that the funds is not facilitated by the bank. The funds website is a place where they show reports and documentation, not an active site that shows the trends. Is there anyone else investing in this fund? Any thoughts are much appreciated, I am utterly confused.

Did you have a lawsuit?

I was asked to submit documents to show that I’m still invested in the fund and proof of my travel to Lisbon for the biometerics. I sent both on 17th Feb, I thought once that is done, I’ll get the confirmation. but its been a month since then, but no news so far.

Everything has come to a complete standstill, with the only approvals now being related to lawsuits. Many applicants from January and February are still waiting, and in most cases, our files have been transferred to other locations.

We did our bio as family on February 14th 2023. We have´t received the approval yet.
My lawyer says that the lawsuit has 60% chance of success. He mentioned that so many are filing these lawsuits which is creating another backlog. Now it is taking so many months to get a reply. The lawsuit becomes less urgent to judges when they know that someone is not living in Portugal.

I just received approval last week (Jan 2023 biometrics in Lisbon, approval came from Funchal). (Yay! Sorta…)

However, both my lawyer and I are stuck in that the DUC can’t be displayed or downloaded. The website gives “Unable to connect to the remote server” (yes, in English, even when website language is Portuguese… seems like a backend error message).

Is anyone else struggling with this? We’re stuck, and we have to make the payment in a short time frame. And the same error has been occurring whenever we try, every day, for a week.

Congratulations, what was your exact biometrics date?

Yes, this has been the case for the last few weeks. New applicants can’t pay and start their citizenship clock.

I was approved in October of 2024, it took about a month before my lawyer was able to generate the DUC. On the plus side, one paid, I received the cards for my dependents and me within 3 weeks.

Oh, was there something special your lawyer had to do, or was just a matter of trying every day until it works?

Also, I thought payment had to be made in 8 days or something, relatively soon after approval? I was getting stressed because it’s already been 7 days and we still can’t generate a DUC.
