Awaiting Final Approval (Stage 4)

Ive seen this before…but now looking through posts I cannot find it:

  1. does the 5 year wait start once a residency card has been received? or some other date?
  2. any updates from anyone who did biometrics Feb. or March 23 and received their card yet?

our time line for reference:
applied 11/21
pre approval May 22
biometrics in Coimbra 3/23 - awaiting approval/card

The 5-year starts from the date on the first residency card.

The updated non-Lisbon data is here: Awaiting Final Approval (Stage 4) - #652 by Onward, including your data. No cards received yet for biometrics in 2023, but a few approvals received for those who had biometrics in Porto.

You’re one month behind me - I did biometrics on 23/2 in Coimbra. So hopefully that’ll give you a month or so notice of when you might receive it - I’ll come back here to update.

Does anyone have any updates on Lisbon Biometric approvals? Looks like all approvals upto mid July 2022 have have grinded to halt and been shelved into cold storage for a few months now. Other SEF offices especially porto are working fast as they are supposed to.
Curious to know what is happening in the Lisbon office

Have you received your card yet? Just curious how long it takes after paying in Faro. We are two months behind you (bio in Faro in late Feb, no payment notice yet).

Nothing new on Lisbon as far as I know. This is the latest on the ones I’m tracking…

Still haven’t received any news on mine (6th July) :frowning:

I’ll be interested to see what happens with our processing.

I did Porto biometrics in January and have been approved/am waiting for a card
2 Dependent family members did theirs in February in Lisbon, and another in March in Funchal.
I’m fascinated to see if the Lisbon ones are as per the timelines above, or if they’re somehow ā€œpiggy backedā€ on the main applicant already having a card.

I’m starting to get concerned about the timing of one dependent for renewals etc as he’s just over a year out from starting University: the SEF delays have really eaten into the timeframe of him being a ā€œdependentā€

Is there a way for me to see on the ARI portal what the dates of the various stages of my application were? Application submitted, payment made, pre-approval received, invite for biometrics, etc.

Hi @tommigun,
I made payment on 10 June 2023 (Sat.) and the ARI portal captured as 14 June 2023: 2 working days. What a coincident that everything is exactly two years in my case. Will update once I get my card with issuing date.

Thanks @rogergan68, mine is also now reflected as ā€˜paid’ on the portal, after 3 working days.

Priyanka,
Were your documents complete when you did your biometrics on July 6, 2022 in Lisbon. When did you submit the update Police verification report.

For the timeline tracking sheet - Biometrics on 7 June for primary applicant, done in Coimbra.

The wait commences once more.

Updated for non-Lisbon SEF biometrics.
Yes. There was some excitement for Porto and Faro, otherwise none.

Progress in Lisbon is so disappointing. At the rate they are going it appears that the timelines will extend to 12 months.

There was no note on the comprovativo (receipt of my biometrics) of any missing documents and nothing was formally requested following. But I did do an updated verification report, I’m going to double check if my lawyers submitted it anyways.

I just got my final approval today (20th June). I had done my biometrics in Faro on 11th January (it’s in the table). So you can update that whenever you refresh the non-Lisbon SEF biometrics.

Update: SEF required new POAs for all the family members due to the change of resident address.
Hope it means that they are processing our cases and approvals are on the way.

Biometrics were done on early Jan 2023 in Coimbra.

Just want to give you all some updates:
1st February, 2022: biometrics in Lisbon
early June, 2023: my lawyer informed me about my final approval
14th June, 2023: made the payment to SEF

I am waiting for an update from SEF but my wife is still waiting for her final approval.

How long before my first residency card expire? 1 year or 2 years? Thanks!
