anyone who did their biometrics in January 2023 in lisbon office got their resident card ?
do we have final clarity on what the 5 year starting period means?
Interesting… I applied before you guys, biometrics 6 weeks after and not even approved yet. Just looking at how these things move, feels like a lot of manpower is moved to clear backlogs at specific SEF offices - it was Faro, then Coimbra I think, then Porto, and now Lisbon. So if you happen to have done bio at the one that is getting all the manpower, you are in luck - else SOL… Just wait for the next time your office gets some love!
I did on Jan 26 and there is no progress. Looks like Lisbon is processing Sept '22 bio now.
Hi All,
We have a situation where the main applicant for the GV received their final approval and residency card in November 2023, and I (the “dependent”) am still waiting for my corresponding final approval and card, now in April, 5 months later.
Our lawyers say they can’t predict the timing as his was processed in Funchal and mine in Porto.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Any advice on what we can to get mine processed or at least an update? Would legal action be reasonable at some point? Many thanks for your thoughts.
Main applicant final approval and residency card in June 2023. Two dependents completed biometrics in January 2023, no progress on final approval or cards since then.
Biometrics in Lisbon Oct 2022 for 4 of us. Still haven’t heard anything
Any news from Coimbra?
My biometrics were Porto in Jan, my son in Lisbon in January, my wife in Funchal 7 weeks later
I got approved in June, she got approved in March, son in April
(I’m the main applicant)
Mother-in-law did biometrics in Feb 23 and is still waiting.
September 15th, 2022 for us in Lisbon, still waiting
Biometrics in Portimão April, 2023 for me (main applicant), still awaiting final approval.
What I don’t understand is spouse applied Jan, 2022 and still don’t even have a pre-approval, attorney states applied online so application is not lost.
Having a hard time understanding why spouse still has not received pre-approval under family reunification???
yes. but required lawsuit filed in Aug. See post details elsewhere.
Don’t think this is limited to just Faro. Haven’t seen much out of Portimao office either. For some reason all recent action seems to be coming out of Lisbon.
Except for all the applicants using the courts to jump the queue
Hey all,
maybe someone can share the details of the biometrics preparation/booking process? My process was pre-approved about 3 month ago and the fields for selecting a date are still inactive on the ARI portal.
How does it all work? Does it make sense for me to call AIMA and try to book a slot? Should I receive some email notification from ARI by email? Will my lawyer also receive it if I added her email on the portal? Will these booking fields on the website become active at some point?
All of you have already passed this stage, so I would appreciate any insights. Now I just check the portal every day…
@Alexey1
You have to check it all the time (everyday), the slot for the appointments are opened randomly, and then they are taken by first come first get basis. I think no time timeline is specified. You or lawyer can book the appointment if your lawyer has access to the portal. You can check with your lawyer for professional advice. It is just my experience.
This is like two years out of date or so
Appointments open regularly near the end of the last batch of appointments. No idea when that will be but go check in the right thread and I’m sure someone will know
A few final approvals from Coimbra reported recently from Feb 2023 biometrics, the latest one being 22nd Feb. I did mine on 24th Feb 2023 so am waiting with baited breath!
Thx for the update mate. It seems that the database is not up-to-date then.
Mine in June23. No bait here… :).
