Thanks @AL, useful information. This database should also be of some evidentiary help for us GV applicants to add to the body of evidence of days spent in PT, especially if we fly in and out of PT. At present our lawyer advises us to retain airline tickets, boarding cards, and reciepts for payments for meals, hotels and fuel etc. done in PT with the NIF number quoted, and exclude day of entry and day of exit from the count of days spent in PT.
I still remember early days in US, when we had a paper stub I-94 stapled to a page in the passport when we entered US - to be carefully preserved and presented to the airline when flying out. Now itās all online, and we can print out the database of all our entries and exits from US sitting here in India.
I was hopeful it would be useful for precisely these sort of purposes,
but FYI my research so far has NOT turned up any way in which you can
access your data historically for an arbitrary amount of historical
time, nor that you will be able to get it produced as a document that
you can use elsewhere.
Not saying it wonāt be possible somehow, or in due course, but at
least at the start, I couldnāt see that thereās going to be a nice
website where a non-border official can scan your passport and get an
official record.
When was the last pre-approval that wasnāt the result of a lawsuit? How many years do we have to wait until we can make a claim against the government for fraud?
AIMA is going on strike for 3 months, so itās not likely to speed up anytime soon.
I donāt think Iāve ever looked in this drawerā¦
WOW, A GUN!
The strike seems to focus on refusing overtime, not totally downing tools. Also the union doesnāt like these 300 temps being hired for one year to help clear the backlog. Iāve posted more here:
so the ultimate question here isā¦ how far do ARI seekers push before everyone at AIMA quits and the entire thing shuts down and no one gets anything at all?
Very little was happening before we started pushing, so fair play to us.
Portuguese strikes if you are not familiar: announced in advance so that the issues can be resolved in advance (maybe one - two days of shutdown) and everyone is (hopefully) happier.
I think ARI is still a minority here. It mentions āExpression of Interestā applicants are also filing lawsuits and they outnumber us by orders of magnitude.
Iāll just put thisā¦ over hereā¦ with the rest of the fireā¦
I think we should organize a push for ā at the very least ā an explanation as to why pre-approvals have ended and whether/when the government intends to resume them.
If the decision has been made to let us all die on the vine (which at this point is reasonable to assume), then that is in fact a retroactive termination of the program.
Every lawsuit slows down the process for more than one application, I bet.
AIMAās processing other forms of visas. Why are ARIs being singled out for collective punishment?
Because there are ignorant applicants out there who continue to invest disregarding the apathy of AIMA.
Have we seen a couple of lawyers comment on the fact that family reunifications seem to be taking precedent?
Hi,
Is anyone has the Primary got approved, and the remain family has no status update, meaning still waiting on the acceptance of the applicaiton?
Me! Done my biometrics in Jan '23 (in Lisbon and nothing has happened since then) and my family applued in July '22 and are not approved yet!
Iām in that space, as well! Pre-approval February '23, biometrics April '23 in PortimĆ”o, and still nothing. My husband (dependent on paper) applied January '22 and no movement on his file, as well. Itās incredibly frustrating!!
