Awaiting Pre-Approval (Stage 2)

What dates?

Per the other thread, I think that poster is stuck in Russian Purgatory.

UPDATE: My attorney replied with a screenshot of the SEF portal and husband’s status which is “Under Review.”

She explained that thousands applied December 2021 and last received was a pre-approval for 27, December, 21. However, she didn’t indicate which month it was received.

My husband and I mistakenly thought once primary applicant is approved, at the latest, dependent is approved within a month or so. He thinks because our last names are different that might be an issue with the delay. Who knows…

Regardless, we have no option but to patiently wait with everyone else. Thanks to all for your suggestions. :slightly_smiling_face:

Anyone know when SEF comes back from summer holiday and will start processing pre-approvals again?

I see updates on FB of D7 and D8 applicants getting approved, so they must just be ignoring GV applicants…

Got a request for an update for my Police records from my lawyer. Is this a step before pre approval? Does it means SEF is finally looking into my file ?
Applied December 23rd 2021

Anyone has stats on the current status of pre-approvals? Come on, processing one application shouldn’t take that long even at a Mediterranean government employee pace

I think that’s a good sign, but since I’m not pre-approved either I can’t answer for sure…i applied a couple of weeks before you and I’d be happy if they asked me that

Are you sure your application and payment were a few weeks before Dec 23 2021? You’d be the earliest application I have heard of still waiting in quite a while

Portugal Golden Visa Approval Volume in August Slowest in 2 Years as Government Goes on Holiday Mode - IMI - Investment Migration Insider (imidaily.com).

What stands out to me about the chart on that page is that Brazilians are so well represented in GV applicants. Dont Portuguese speakers already have fast and easy access to PT?

I think they do. But perhaps it means that a small percentage of Brazilians are also seeking the benefits of residency without 180 day stay requirement, and eventual passport?

Hi folks, despite that we are almost in Mid sept, no new pre-approval cases were reported this month in this group. This was the case in the last 3 months and i became now worried and i believe that we need to check, through our lawyers, if anything special is going in SEF regarding the pre-approval cases. Any additional insights are welcomed

The people on this forum are really a very small sample of pending GV cases. You can’t read in too much

Agree, that is why I thought to reach to our lawyers who might have a wider view. Data from this forum can serve only as an indicator

For what it’s worth, my lawyers have confirmed they’re seeing glacial progress at SEF.

What do you mean by glacial progress?

Extremely slow to respond to anything, across multiple clients.
