Yes that’s right. Those who applied in 2021, NON-GVers, have reported on FB groups they could not do it anymore in 2024 I applied for GV auto-renewal in March 2023 myself and when it expires early next year, I’m pessimistic enough that I would not be able to do it again. For this matter, GV or non-GV, it’s the same.

This new online renewal is also applicable for GV. My lawyer is of the view that GV renewal cannot be done online. Any feedback on this plz
The new online renewal “should” be applicable for GV. I have tried multiple times for my parents’ renewal and had no success while D7 applicant have had no issues renewing. My lawyers have also tried with no success…so if anyone has had luck doing renewal for GV, I would love to hear a success story
What’s the error message popping up ? I successfully renewed it online last year but I wouldn’t rely on this luck for the next renewal. I also saw someone posting here that he managed to order a renewal in Q1 2024.
I logged in to www.sef.pt and got this message even when I tried to look at history of previous applications (I renewed in Jan 2023)

It’s my first GV renewal. It will be good to hear if some one had success.

I just heard from someone who finished their in-person biometric appointment in Lisbon this morning for first GV renewal. Their card expired in April 2024.
Now the website sef.pt was completely vaporized. It re-directs to the Aima and says that it is under maintainance.
this is exactly the error that we received. i just emailed our attorney and she said that she has not been able to renew ARI/GV online at all since the new site opened.
Ah really ? May I ask if this person shared how he/she got an appointment ?
They used another lawyer since their GV lawyer was unable to provide any update.

Just read auto-renewal is up and running again. Many who had red error messages get to renew it now. People even report it’s their 2nd & 3rd online renewal…Wondering is there any GV holder who got through it successfully today ?
I also suspect some lawyer might be able to grab a slot for renewal with AIMA, altho very rare. I notice AIMA has integrated ARI onto its portal, maybe through which the lawyer landed the appointment?

According to our attorney, even after I have sent a few different emails asking the question differently- she said that the auto-renewal site is NOT for ARI. If someone learns otherwise please share ASAP
