Hi Sam, I applied for citizenship almost two years ago offline. My application is with an IRN that is still struggling to process applications submitted in 2022, while many others are already working on cases from mid-2023. A litigation lawyer suggests that there is a legal basis under administrative law to support a lawsuit. Such a lawsuit could take over a year, but the IRN might respond with a decision at any stage before the court ruling.
Have you applied online? To my knowledge, Porto isn’t handling offline applications too badly. However, to this day, I haven’t seen an online case completed at the Porto IRN. But I could be wrong !
