I did the same, and the status moved very quickly to ‘Concluded’ about 2 weeks ago, so also interested to see how long it takes to receive the card.

My automatic renewal finally went through after many attempts. My Residents card expires on Decemeber 23. The status if the renewal is CONCLUDED. Any idea how long it takes to receive the card? or how to get a tracking number. Does the status change to something else once sent?
AIMA (formerly SEF) advised me that the card had been ordered from Casa de Moedas, and that it would take about a month. No tracking information was available at the time.
As I know since the change from SEF to AIMA nobody received new card ether new nor after renewal. Nothing in November. There is some serious problem regarding the transfer of database from old agency to new one. Lawyers commented that it could take about 3 months.
AIMA really confirmed that they have sent order to Casa de Moedas? Wow! It is a good sign
However, in the past we have seen cases that they were just lying and so meant that the “next step is to send the order to Casa de Moedas”, but not that they have already sent the one. System does not show us the difference anyway

Good news! Cards with the dates of approval after 30.10 (with AIMA) started to be printed by Casa de Moedas!
Three months was overexaggeration!

How do you know?
Well, there are people who follows different status of many different clients and tell the local community. News is not GV-specified, it is about general situation with all residence cards. While in November there were no a single card issued, this week first started to be printed cards with approvals in October, and now some cards from November are in printing too. Suppose that GV should not be much different.
Has anyone heard from their Lawyers, about the GV Renewals process/appointments for those in the Jan-Mar 2024 renewal window? I spoke to lawyer today, they are “waiting to hear”
Not yet. My spouse’s renewal is due soon so I’m following it. Our lawyer said he thinks the Jan-Mar online renewals should open sometime in January (although my renewal was due in December and I was only able to complete in November, so maybe February is a safer bet). I’ll post here if we hear more.

Hi all, my lawyer (who has been pretty accurate along this journey) just told me that card issuance was paused in December at the point of printing. The delay didn’t come from AIMA, which has indeed started sending recent approvals to be printed. The delay was with Casa de Moedas amending the cards to say they are authorized by AIMA not SEF (not sure why that would take a month but such is life 
). They expect shiny new AIMA cards will start being dispatched from January.
Another point to add is that she raised the possibility that AIMA could restart in-person renewals. Not certain by any means but she said people should be prepared for that possibility.

How could anyone at AIMA look at the current state of things and actively decide to make things slower? 
Q4 2023 renewal applicants - have you gotten your cards delivered? Did one for a family member in November but haven’t heard feedback after paying the fees.
I completed my renewal on November 11, 2023 as my current card expired on 23 December. Status of my renewal is “concluded “ on the portal but no card received to date. I have sent over 10 emails and not received any replies. Can someone let me know who to contact to chase up the card? Should I check with my local CTT office?
Trying to do an automatic renewal a GV for my 10 year old daughter. Getting the “notpossible/make an appointment” dreaded message. The strange thing is that my renewal, my wife & son went through fine.
Any help appreciated. Or sharing experiences with renewing children visas etc. Thanks!

I think for minor (under 18) they need to renew it in person. Cannot be done online. But I am not 100% sure, just know it thru a friend which had a similar problem. Please update your situation here as well. It also helps me. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Thanks for sharing the info. It’s insane. 3 family members will have renewals but my 10 year old daughter will need an appointment. But the system says “No appointments are available”! Seems like Portugal doesn’t need the extra 3400+ euros. In my case, I’ve been physically resident in Portugal for 5+ years so with hindsight should have applied for a different category. So many others are paying a few hundred euros every year for residence cards and with much more support.
Joe, just wait for the new law to come into force and apply for citizenship. Your daughter’s GV is stil valid till July 2024 even if technically expired.
I just got my card for my 2023 4th qtr renewal yesterday (Jan 10).
I have seen several questions about the expiration date on the new cards and also how long it takes to get the new cards, so here is the timeline for my renewal:
Original expiration date: 7 October 2023.
Site opened for 4th quarter renewals: 7 November 2023 (submitted renewal application online that day)
Payment Made/Received: Made 7 November, Status changed to Concluido approx two days later
Card Received: 10 Jan 2024
Expiration date of new card: 11 November 2025
So it looks from time of submission for renewal to receipt of card was exactly 2 months and 2 days under the automatic renewal scheme. FYI - Under the automatic renewal scheme I did not have to re-up my criminal record. I also was not asked for any other paperwork by my lawyer when she submitted my renewal.
Also, they assigned an expiration date 2 years from the day they processed the payment for the new card (11 Nov) ; they did not back date to the expiration date of my original card (7 Oct).
I hope this helps. We will see if the process/timeline changes for my husband who renewals in Feb… to my knowledge, the site is not yet open for 2024 1st qtr renewals.

Great, thank you so much for posting this. I renewed online the same date as you, but I renewed a card that was set to expire in late Dec. Hopefully my card will arrive in the next few days. I’ll update on here as soon as I hear further.
