HOW-TO: GV Automatic Online Renewal Procedure (Jan 2023→)

I suggest you try emailing SEF IT for help (cc their Contact Center).

Does the e-mail address have any special characters in it? I read that was a problem for someone that had a “+” in their address.

but for me for the past week I have been trying to do an online renewal and I’m getting this error, and of course SEF is not answering

i had the same issue for months, and then suddenly i was able to renew, i think your problem is same as mine before, just had to wait until someone in sef get your case file loaded to the system

do you know which email that is? i have been trying sef@sef.pt, which i was lead to believe is the central office email, but guess what? this email does not reply, not even an auto reply

i tried email with surname.firstname@outlook.com, i tried, gmail with pure numbers like 123214321@gmail.com, and i tried email with ‘-’, not one worked, so i think there is some deeper issue with mine

has anyone received the card during July-Sep automatic renewals?

Also interested to know if someone has actually received their card during this quarter as of yet.

Applied and paid as soon as they opened renewals. Nothing received yet…

Same boat as IME. Applied when renewals opened. It’s been exactly 2 weeks since I got confirmation of “Completed” on SEF website renewal. I’m planing to ping my lawyer to check in at Week 3.

Guys, just to note that I have waited for my card 55 days since payment.
It was not a renewal, but I suppose it all goes via SIISEF then INCM then CTT just the same…

Good to know. Though as you said it’s not apples to apples comparison, so hope it’s not same timeline.

Praying for your speedier issuance of card and everyone’s card

I believe it’s pretty much the same process.
To clarify - I mentioned that my card was indeed issued, but it took 55 days of wait.
So 2-3 weeks in SEF’s world is nothing

Haha. Yeah, my expectations are now lowered. Thankfully, I am back in Lisbon before expiration with no travel planned due to the timeline you mentioned :+1:

There was a problem in the 1q of 2023 with the printing of residence cards. Then SEF accumulated significant backlog and therefore delays again. How predictable! :upside_down_face:

Let them resolve the Cancelled by SEF DUC payments as a first step, it’s been close to one month and they are unable to resolve a simple technical error. Then the processing and printing of the permits, which might take god knows how many months (Or years?)

1 month so far since payment has been made and nothing received yet. Never seen such incompetent people like SEF agents…

The payment itself is processed by SEF in about 2 weeks. After that they’d send the printing order to ICNM and they in turn print and post via CTT. So all in all within the first 60 days from payment you should not worry too much

It’s been a month since the payment has been made and the status still shows “Cancelled by SEF”, so you are better off comparatively … lol

I would email them again with proof of payment application no and screenshot of your current status. I did the payment exactly 48 hours after they opened applications. If you did it a few days later it’s possible they will get your case much later but sending another email doesn’t hurt.
