Is it Lawsuit time? (Processing times)

We are using the same lawyers.

Could we have the lawyers name please?

Some of us are not so fortunate.

Would you be kind enough to share your lawyers name please?

Iโ€™m using CRS Advogados, which is a small boutique firm based out of Lisbon. The lawyer that dealt with my case is Ms. Raquel Roque. Excellent communication skills, smart, great work ethic and very responsive.

Thank you very much indeed John.

No post 2021 applications are being processed (initially at least) without a lawsuit at this time . We just got our biometrics appointment for January after a lawsuit (lost initial judge lotto and won appeal)

Congratulations on getting your biometric appointment by filing a lawsuit! Did you get the appointment for all applicants (main applicant + dependents)?

Also, is it possible to share how much your lawyer fee was for filing the lawsuit? You can PM me if you prefer.

We have the same attorney and absolutely agree with your positive assessment of her. In addition, I find her to be very realistic and she does not give any false reassurances! We are awaiting results of our lawsuit, initially filed in August, then withdrawn in September due to potential rejection and resubmitted in October.

Hi everyone, has anyone filed without โ€œUrgencyโ€ got success in getting pre-approval and biometrics appointment?

My lawyer filed a lawsuit in July to get AIMA to start to process my application and provide a biometric appointment date.

Have heard absolutely nothing.

The lawyer wrote the following this last week:

Regarding your specific filing, you are correct that we initiated the process earlier, in July. However, the court system has undergone a series of internal changes recently, including the movement of several judges to different courts. These shifts have caused delays because the new judges needed time to familiarize themselves with the inherited caseloads, including your case. While this transition is beyond our control, it is something we are acutely aware of and have been actively following up on.

Has anyone else heard the same story?

Thank you.

It sounds very familiar when Sef was replaced by Aima. Things get worse!

Itโ€™s like a black box. Which law firm are you using? My law firm didnโ€™t indicate this and still indicate that the decision maybe anytime soon and recommended to have my apostilled documents ready

When did your law firm file your application Joel?

So update, there was a result on my lawsuit filed April 2024 through AVCO LEGAL. It was filed as a NORMAL case, not urgent.

In November 2024, AIMA has given me a schedule for me and my family for biometrics in January 2025.

I applied for Portugal GV June 2023

Congrats on the decision

October sir

By the way, looks like or maybe itโ€™s just my survivorship bias - From second half of 2024 there seems to be a very high rate of lawsuit approvals and that too decision within 2 - 3 months.

Can someone confirm or deny my observation?

In my case, law suit was filed in July, and have heard nothing.

That is nearly 5 months!

Just received information today that our non-urgent lawsuit requesting biometrics appointment has been accepted by judge as valid. AIMA has 7 days to respond. We initially filed in September. It was then withdrawn and resubmitted in the last week of October.

Good luck! Was the lawsuit for pre-approval or was it already approved and you were waiting for biometrics appointment>?
