Questions for Mercan Group investors - email domain/validity of the person from Mercan

Have you read your contract? Mine states the exact manner in which repayment can occur, and even a different yield rate in case they cannot, and an optional lawsuit to liquidate.

After this complete mess and lack of faith in a government than can go against its laws (providing decision within 90 days) where people can sue and win yet still nothing is enforced, I’ll be requesting liquidation the day it’s possible.

I have requested that stay and they are asking for GV card .

“The purpose of the complimentary stays was made to coordinate the courtesy to our investors when they come to complete their ARI mandatory stay requirements.”

Repayment (from what i signed and what i see) needs two things:
1- property must be finished and work for 5 years
2- Your golden visa should be received for 5 years , after the change in Law, this second rule should not be a problem because your GV time start from the application.

From what i remember, they accept 600 investors for a project so that is huge amount of money collected and huge amount of money will be refund. Mercan is a old company based in Canada dealing with lots of hotel project, hope that they will well organized for repayment :slight_smile:

On point 1- interesting , so day 0 or day 1 is the date the hotel became operational ?

We invested in June 2021 but the hotel (Hilton Garden Inn, Evora) became operational only in May 2023 , so going by your mail, earliest I can assume repayment is May 2028 ? (My Gv would have finished 5y by 2026 so that is not an issue)

So based on your aggreement you get paid %3-%7 (minus tax) every year, for 5 years, than you will (you have to by the way) sell your property exact amount you paid for it. GV is not he bottleneck in your case. Actually, after the new law, getting GV for 5 year will not be the bottleneck anymore.

In my case there is no return / mine was the € 280k scheme (not 350k which had a 3% return).

Hence waiting 5y from date of hotel becoming operational is not great , but will read the agreement to see if that is indeed the min period to repayment
