# Removal fiscal reprentative on Financas

Hi.  
I have a Portuguese passport and id with all my number onbthe back of the cards. I am from south Africa and found work here  
I have been to financas 4 times to open an activity. But the say i need a representative because i dont live in portugal  
How do i remove that representative as they no longer want to be my representatives.

Secondly i still need a representative in order to abrir actividad.  
Must it be an accountant.

Any advise help will be appreciated

I was able to remove my fiscal representative after I received my 1st residency card. There are instructions in English online on how to do this. That link did not let me know that by doing so it would trigger the NHR election, however. In addition, in order to be able to remove representation on your own you most likely need to already have some govermental function already namely the digital mobile key which usually means you also need the [autenitiçao.gov](http://xn--autenitiao-v6a.gov) login as well. I did all this because my career was in accounting and I mistakenly thought that filling out the returns for me would be somewhat simple.

While I did eventually figure out the annexs for the NHR return - I really would not recommend that for anyone else.

The representative does not have to be an accountant - it could be a PT friend as long as that friend is comfortable enough with Finanças matters to be in essence your tax accountant in PT. While the Braga staff were extremely helpful at every step of the process in spite of my low level of PT - only A2 now but barely functional while I was doing early gov’t steps - not every loja is as good as mine seems to be.

No, the “Chave Movel Digital” is not necessary in this case.
