H mm, always tricky, don’t want to bore people to death!! Live alone, have a grown up doctor daughter, currently work for the UK Government in Legal Services - mainly police prosecutions, but of course giving that up to move to Portugal and indulge my passion which is horses: so will be based with a very good trainer there, taking my own horse and dog with me, and planning on enrolling at Porto Uni - to study - yes you guessed it- Portuguese for foreigners! The last time I lived abroad it was in Germany 30 years ago, and then I was on a mission to learn German - was reasonably fluent before I came back to the UK. I can’t function properly without the language, so always make the effort to learn, plus back then there was no internet, google, on line dictionaries, mobile phones, apps or even satellite TV - so the only English I got was listening to the BBC world service on the radio!! Ive spent lots of time in the States too, mainly Texas, Florida, and lived in San Francisco for a while - fab city. My dad was a US citizen so lots of family there too.
have always loved to travel though since I got back into horses 15 years ago - haven’t really been anywhere much - those darned things are so expensive lol!
REally looking forward to the new chapter, though dealing with the bureaucracy associated with getting a visa, is a bit of a pain, especially when I realised that if I’d had this epiphany before December 2020 - it would have been a doddle as the UK was still in the EU ! Oh well these things are sent to try us!! Onwards and upwards…or technically westwards I suppose - speak soon maybe? :grinning: :grinning:
