I can now look for appointments at the various branches. But there are no appointments available. HAs anyone managed to book an appointment for a renewal without the help of a lawyer?

I pinged my lawyer today asking same questions and they told me that SEF has not opened slots for renewals…but I plan to stalk this group and my lawyers to jump on spot when it opens.
That’s the best option. Im going to be checking daily from now onwards. Does anyone know if the expired cards validity has been extended?
The slots are only available for expired cards until june 30

No news yet, and it’s already 29th June! I am quite concerned as I was hoping to travel to Portugal next week. If anyone has any news on an extension please do let us know!

For those who don’t know - the extension was approved yesterday afternoon until 31 December 2022

I only found out today that SEF opened up 1600 appointments for renewals yesterday, but they were gone within one hour. It was on their Facebook page

Hi everyone, my lawyers were able to get a biometric renewal appointment, but hold on, it is scheduled for 30th of December. They have told me that it was the only slot available so I am not sure what happened to the other 1599 slots… 
I’ve been waiting for a renewal appointment over a year now and appreciate having a renewal appointment but Dec 30th is not the most optimum date 
; still better than nothing…
Fyi: I don’t have access to my account, I rely on my lawyers to schedule an appointment for me.

It is Faro, but I was told there was no other vacancy; worth to check with your lawyer

Is there anyone else who was able to get a renewal appointment in the last 14 days? Just to let you know I’ve talked to my lawyers and based on the recent progress on GVs they “expect” more renewal appointments will be released - but this is just their expectation and nothing else.

About a week ago, my lawyers got me an appointment for my biometrics for my first renewal. It’s in mid October in Lisbon. The appointment is a month before the expiration of my residency card. I’m extremely happy with my law firm. I’ve been very lucky and everything has gone very smoothly from the very beginning.
