And yet everyone still keeps saying that its from the time of the application.
Saying is different from doing, and way different from achieving…
Happy to finally be posting this myself. My first card arrived today, an absolutely ridiculous three years and two months after I applied for it.
Initial application September 2021.
Biometrics appointment March 2023.
Lawsuit filed April 2024.
Lawsuit won September 2024.
Final approval October 15, 2024.
Card received today.
It’s valid through October 31, 2026.
That said, my wife’s is nowhere in sight - she hasn’t even gotten a biometrics appointment offer yet. Needless to say, we filed a second lawsuit some months back.
So you don’t think it’s from the time of application?
So you have to file a lawsuit individually? You can’t do the whole family?
They asked for a record of entry into Portugal to verify whether I entered Portugal legally, but the transit ticket only had a record of the transit airport, and no stamp record of entering Lisbon. Now I can only let a lawyer try to explain it. I had done biometrics 2 years ago.
Right. Technically, you first have to receive final approval yourself in order to have a case that your dependents ought to be reunited with you.
After complete the Biometric to renew our card (Golden visa/ ARI ), on Friday received email of approved and to payment for me and my husband, but for my Daughter i didn’t receive any email for renewal approved. Her age 11.
Can anyone here tell me what could be the reason? Thanks in advance.
Hmm. The lawsuit does not need to follow that track. We filed a broad lawsuit including me and two of my family members (requesting final approval) and also including my son - for his biometrics (applied later since he was not born at time of original application, but no Bio appt given for 2 Y). Everything went through. We got our cards and he got his appointment.
What was the timeline for you providing your biometrics appointment to final approval?
We are due to provide our biometrics in Porto in January 2025. I’m hoping that the wait between biometrics and the cards landing isn’t another 12 month wait.
Biometrics was in March 2023 at Faro, lawsuit filed in April '24, final cards in October. Son’s biometrics scheduled in Lisbon in December 2024.
Our lawyer just msged and informed that my Husband has also been approved!
It took a little over 2 weeks from the time we paid for mine till we got my husband’s approval.
We plan on making his payment on Monday (when the DUC is activated) and then wait to hear when the cards are issued and received.
my timeline:
- application submitted: 28-dec-2021
- pre-approval: 19-may-2023
- biometrics: 6-jul-2023
- final approval: 21-oct-2024
- fees paid: 28-oct-2024
my family are currently awaiting final approval.
how long before i receive my card? how long before my family receives final approval and receives their card?
@sj-to-pt how do you know you “won the lawsuit”? i also filed a lawsuit but all i know is that the judge has informed aima, and nothing more.
fwiw, i did receive my final approval about 1 month after i filed the lawsuit, but i don’t think this has anything to do with the lawsuit.
Congrats, where did you do your biometrics?
Has anyone here that attended their first biometrics appointment had to notarise and apostille a document showing their tax number? This one doesn’t make sense to me - in my case it’s a printout of a generated PDF from the UK tax authority’s website. I’ve posted a similar question with it’s own new thread but that was specific to the procedure of getting that document notarised.
I thought I would also ask on this thread as all of you would have gone through this step already on this particular document.
I did - based in Singapore and I had to get a copy of my ID document here (which is also my Tax ID number) apostilled.
For our UK applications we just needed new legalised ACRO certificates for the biometrics in Feb 2023. Definitely not anything from HMRC. The TIN document (NI number in the UK’s case) was not even apostilled with the original application.
Got my final approval today!
Application filed: 12/27/2021
Pre approval: 01/22/2024
Biometrics: 02/26/2024
Final approval: 11/27/2024
I have paid the fees to my lawyer, and will update the following process when they happen. My dependents still waiting for their biometrics appointments.
Congrats! Where was your biometrics appt?
