Wishing you the very best! I’m confident you’ll receive good news soon!
Did you take legal action against AIMA? Your timeline is good news if it took AIMA to issue a payment request just 8 weeks after your biometrics.
Yes, I won the legal suit in July 2024, Bio is given on 6th of September, there were missing documents uploaded on 1st week of October, and 5th of November lawyer asked me to pay the DUC, 6th of November DUC paid.
Wow super lucky! I was late October, bios in Jan 2023 in Lisbon… but maybe they are going by original application date!
Why on earth would they need your travel details. You DID the biometrics IN Lisbon! lol
They seem to care about this. Maybe just prove you were travelling legally and not doing something sketchy on a private plane. Sometimes people fly in on military planes and things like that, too. I only this because I’ve been asked for military ID a few times. They sometimes get confused when you enter/exit in different Shengen countries.
My lawyers were pretty careful to document the plane tickets to the biometric appointment.
How strange! Mine didn’t say anything to retain information of my visit until after the card was issued. Has anyone else kept their details from their biometrics visit? I’m sure I can find it, but would never have imagined to need to prove that I went to Portugal to give fingerprints in person and to have to prove that I was actually there.
There was one person that got their approval held up by this issue. I don’t have the link handy. It might be that it depends on where you’re coming from. I’m from the US, and they did want to see proof of valid entry to the EU, but they weren’t too tough (it took about 10 minutes once my number was called at the biometrics).
Maybe to make sure that it was me who actually did the Biometrics
Wow, it’s a good sign, you will get final approval very soon! Btw, when is your filing date?
Yes this is a normal request - we showed our entry stamps in Lisbon at the biometrics appointment.
Yesterday, I had a call with my lawyers as it has now been two years since my biometrics appointment in Lisbon (31 Jan 2023). Here’s what they confirmed:
"We are doing everything possible to expedite our clients’ cases. In the meantime, we have verified with AIMA that your case has been reassigned to Madeira, which explains the delay in receiving a decision.
While the Azores are currently processing cases from March, Madeira is further behind.
We will continue to monitor your case closely and provide updates."
Does anyone know which month Madeira is currently processing for biometrics?
As far as we can tell from Chris’s post above (Awaiting Final Approval (Stage 4) - #2297 by cj807) only three cases [ @servettasman @nedned and @nnl] in Lisbon have received approval, with no lawsuit.
Unless these applicants (or their lawyers) are/were informed on which office handled the case (or if the info is apparent on the DUC generated), it is difficult to establish which office gets the Lisbon file and where it might be in processing the backlog.
Not ideal …
Can you kindly share your lawyers information and contact detail. Thank you very much
Thanks! And the DUC is centrally generated with a reference number, amount and date.
Nov 24, 2021 applucation fee paid, Jan 27, 2023 Biometrics at Lisbon
Mine came from Madeira. My biometric was in Lisbon 18 Jan 2023. Honestly, I don’t think they are going off bio dates, it is more like application filing date. For me it was October 2021.
Thank you!
