Congratulations!!! Can you kindly provide details of your lawyer contacts and if appropriate the reason for urgency. Thank you
Sent a PM.
Thank you. Got it
If I understand this correctly, assuming the proposed law passes, you will have your citizenship 17 years after your initial application? Absolutely insane.
Finally, the news that we had been waiting for, over the past 3.5+ years.
Received the final approval. Got an email from the advocates to pay EUR 6179.40
No news on the dependents, but the lawyer assured me that it will be soon (for what it’s worth)
Key dates:
Application 21 Nov 2021
Bio 21 Mar 2023 (Lisbon)
Final approval 17 Jul 2025 - no lawsuit at any stage.
Now the wait for the card starts…
Congrats. Starting to think mine got lost in the post.
App 1 Oct 2021
Bio 13 Feb 2023 Lisbon
Thanks. Not lost, I think.
I have always kept track of yours, because of the same month for application and shortly after yours for biometrics. My sense is that the shift of files to different offices gave each of us a new lottery ticket - depending on how fast that office works. I was surprised mine was Funchal.
It has had Transferido SIISEF since February. The only thing online that has changed (in the SEF site if you have access) is the information when one clicks on the Euro sign - and there it goes to a page which states under “Descrição”- “Concessão” and under “Documento de Cobrança” -“Aguarda emissão”.
It obviously is still a waiting game for the card - the date of which now takes on a different level of importance.
I know there are a number of us here with January 2023 biometrics and awaiting approval. Here to deliver you hope…! I was Oct 2021 application, and 31st Jan 2023 biometrics and I finally received approval this week. Fee paid - now let’s just hope the card is imminent and the inevitable legislative changes are forgiving. Thanks to this group for the camaraderie and transparency that it provides.
This is great news, Congratulations! Jan 2023 applicants from this group still awaiting approval are as under:
Wishing all of us Good luck!
Hope your’s and that of others in your list the wait will be over soon. Hang in there.
Congratulations!
If you have dependents, have they received approvals and DUC at the same time as you?
Have your dependents done their Biometrics?
Chris - My lawyer says that she has been getting a number of approvals all with the same Q1 2023 of biometrics, suggesting that this is part of the AIMA approach of clearing the backlog.
My dependents did their biometrics two days after me (23 March 2023) at Funchal.
My husband and I did biometrics together in Lisbon Jan 23. I am informed that his approval will be granted once my card is received.
Congrats and same timeline! Let’s see when we receive our cards!
Card has finally been received by my lawyers. Complete timeline below for reference:

It took five months for your card to be printed after final approval??!!
I know, I don’t know how I got so lucky with the turnaround!
(There was an issue this year where they weren’t accepting payments for ~3 months, adding yet more delays)
Congratulations!!! Did you file a lawsuit?
