FYI I’m also on that list. 20-Jan-23 in Lisbon. I think I’m in the database as “inconsequential-sale”
We are Jan 23 leftovers, hope next will be us.
My husband (primary applicant) got notice that our lawyers have received his card this week. Here are the dates:
Nov. 21, 2021 application
July 20, 2022 pre-approval
March 20, 2023 biometrics in Lisbon
May 15, 2025 DUC issued and paid
July 30, 2025 residency card received
We did not file a lawsuit.
My application is a bit behind (application date Dec 10, 2021 and biometrics in Lisbon in May, 2023.) We haven’t received notice to pay the DUC for me yet. Our daughter’s application appears to be completely stalled as she did not make her biometrics appointment in 2023. She was our dependent when we started this whole process and now she is at university in the States. Unclear if anything will ever happen with her application.
I remember scheduling my daughters’ biometrics appointments were also a nightmare. We had all of four days to organize it. We flew from India, one daughter from Australia and the other from New Zealand where they were studying. They were in Portugal for less than 48 hours. As a matter of interest, New Zealand and Portugal are antipodes - exactly opposite sides of the globe. The jetlag was a nightmare.
Another January 2023 Lisbon biometric here (6 Jan 2023) still waiting to hear back
Congrats!! We have the same timeline almost exactly, except still waiting for my card. This gives me hope though!
My friend applied on 25th of March 2025 with the donation option.
He did his fingerprint on 17th of July 2025, and today he received his card.
Well, after the application, we have waited 2.5 years to get our cards in May 2025
We lost 2.5 years and if the new law pasess, his citizenship clock starts almost same time with ours, just 2 months after us.
Although I am very happy for my friend, it doesnt seem to be fair.
Do you know where they got their biometrics done and where their cards were printed?
From 25th of Mar to 4th of August, it is just about less than 4 months 2 weeks. It is surely a record to get card in hand after submission. Incredible!!! And huge congratz to your friend.
Congrats to your friend, yes.
But this means that AIMA is throwing our legacy cases under the bus in favor of new applicants, as predicted.
Your friend’s entire case was processed from start to residence card within the amount of time since I paid the DUC and have been waiting for my residence card.
AIMA’s directive must be to keep the new money coming in…
Finger print at Faro, print he doesnt know and didnt ask as it was not his concern.
Further to my earlier post (Awaiting Final Approval (Stage 4) - #2848 by Onward) 18 July 2025, card now received - 5 August 2025. Surprisingly fast.
Congrats! I paid mine in June, still waiting for my card. Hopefully will be celebrating with you soon!
Exactly two months have passed since I paid my DUC, yet there is still no update regarding my card, nor any progress on the DUC for my dependent. Additionally, the payment status has not been updated on the AIMA portal.
I followed up with my lawyer, and she provided the following clarification, which I summarize below as it might be answers to some of questions:
-
As she says, the payment details for my dependent’s DUC cannot be issued until my card has been printed.
-
She notes that AIMA has up to 90 working days from the date of payment to print the card.
-
As for the portal, they have observed that in many recent cases, even after the card has been issued, the payment date does not appear on the platform. Therefore, the absence of the payment on the portal does not necessarily mean that it hasn’t been received.
Sad, but true!
I had paid my DUC on 24th May and card received at lawyer’s office on 23rd July. Card printed on 11th July. And I was asked to pay for my dependents’ DUC on 15th July. On the AIMA platform, the payments are still not reflected, so do not worry about it.
I wonder if this is a special treatment for generous donors or is it same for the new fund investors?
Waiting for my card more than six months, and that’s even though my DUC shows in the system as paid.
My lawyer says it’s common.
I think you have a problem Hippo. You have been waiting far too long. You better look into that and have your lawyer look into it as well.
Congrats to your friend for getting the cards so fast, and to you for getting them eventually.
Though it hurts so much to see this after almost 4 years of waiting, and still being stuck at the “waiting for the final DUC” stage.
Imagine being at 5 years and still a few steps behind waiting for DUC… it’s so sad the only solution is to laugh at the absurdity.
