I’ve finally had final approval. I applied in November 2021. The ARI portal is showing the update in the payment section but my lawyer can’t issue the DUC through the portal, and when I’ve tried it won’t work either and says ‘Duplicate DUC request’ / ‘Pedido DUC duplicado’. Has anyone had this issue and know how to solve it?

I’m currently in the same situation with my family, and I’ve experienced this myself before. Unfortunately, there’s no way around it. You just have to follow up with AIMA and wait.

I pushed my lawyer, she pushed AIMA. It took me about one month last time.

It was like this:
21 days from approval to issue the DUC
82 days from DUC payment to the card printing
Is that 82 days until you recieved the card from your lawyer? It sounds like AIMA issuing it was quicker?
No! 82 days is from the date I paid DUC, till the print date written on the card. After that, it took me 100 days to receive the card which I shared its story earlier.
It was my experience. You may see many people who experienced a shorter time and some who experienced even longer. We are talking about Portugal. Your luck is very important factor.

Just been to AIMA with my lawyer. They said we cannot issue the DUC online because there is a problem with the system since they have increased the fees.

They increase fees every couple of years (2020, 2023, 2024 and now 2026)… but even after all that practice they still can’t figure out how to update their own portal!

how did you finally get the DUC to work? Any tips? I’m in the same situation that you were. Had an email to say been finally approved but cannot get the portal to issue the DUC.
Has anyone received their DUC recently? My family’s approval came through on March 19, but the ARI portal is still having issues, and I’m unable to generate the DUC.
Has anyone who got approval after March 19 been able to receive their DUC for payment?
Same situation here unfortunately. The last time such a thing happened lasted more than a couple of months according to the contributions to this platform. On the other hand, hearing that AIMA is sending a ton of biometric appointments to speed up money collection. With the changes in the law, this round will probably be the last one to make up the budget deficit of the country without delivering anything.

For your information, I received DUC directly from AIMA today. stating that:
Due to a technical issue with the ARI Portal, it was not possible to send the Single Payment Document (DUC) relating to your application/process through that platform.
In order to avoid further delays, we hereby send the document as an attachment.

I received my card on 09/01/2026, 5 days after issuance. However, I have not yet received my dependent son’s card. Since we submitted our Golden Visa applications on the same day, could you please advise how long it typically takes for his card to arrive?
