My problem is that with these out-dated informations on my file with ARI, i cannot auto-renewal my expired ARI cards
Just got a message from my agent. She said they’ve had quite a few Dec 2022 applicants pre-approved recently
WoW! Russian roulette again. AIMA seems to be following alphabetical order for processing 2022 applications.
Interesting. What happened to the applications earlier in 2022? According to the Nomad Gate database, I see almost everyone is still awaiting pre-approval, though there are a couple applicants that have biometrics scheduled or completed - I’m assuming those are the result of lawsuits.
As a December 2022 applicant myself, I sure hope to see some pre-approvals on the database.
My lawyer has a different take. According to her, most of her clients are now simultaneously applying for other european residencies in addition to Portugal. My blood boiled listening to her. But then again, when the universe itself is conspiring against you, winning a logical debate against her seems at least futile if not completely improbable. But I think I do need to replace my law firm.
I had the same from my law firm and it’s my understanding that after submission has taken place, only the original registration account can access the portal (i.e. the account your lawyer used to submit the initial application). In our case, I believe it’s too late to create our own access to track our application. 2.5 years since applying, I don’t bother to ask about these things anymore. Any day/month/year/decade from now, I’ll get an email telling me my application has been reviewed, then I’ll start my next wait…
Could you tell me who’s your lawyer? I will try to stay away from him/her in case i need a new lawyer in Portugal in the future. lol
Is “2022” a typo? It doesn’t seem possible! They couldn’t jump from Dec 2021 to Dec 2022!
If I recall correctly, there was a 6 month or so period where they closed applications - first half of 2022 was it? - which might explain the leap.
Yeah! Leap to the end of 2022?? U r conveniently bypassing the second half from mid-jun onwards.
I discovered this thread months after my application was submitted. After reading the the sad stories, I gave up any hope that the 10-16 month estimate of my agent would be true (I’ve been waiting 19 months now). I stopped checking this thread but since it was her birthday a few days ago, she gave me this update when I greeted her.
I just asked my friend who did his GV through H&P. They also told him that their latest pre-approval was Dec 2022. So it’s either there’s some truth to it or maybe those are the results of the lawsuits or they are flat out lying to keep us from complaining/getting angry.
I also messaged my friend who works in Spain. His company also does Portugal and Spain GV but he hasn’t replied to me yet.
Don’t get it personal mate, we all suffer from this PGV madness. The day will come, the worst case scenario is 5 years wait, it could not go beyond this.
yeah I know haha. This visa thing is now rarely in my mind. LOL
It could. No real enforcement mechanisms. No real penalties available against the government or those that sold us this fraud.
It could? It certainly would. Appalling callousness of various institutions is the hallmark USP of this Portuguese GV. I did not even want their passport. I am happy where I am. I just wanted schengen mobility- a extremely high price paid for non-existent returns.
Your anger is well justified mate. But venting out anger in these threads is not constructive for the topic of discussion - i believe there was a new thread just for that
I tried accessing the ARI portal through this page on AIMA’s site to check application status, but now I’m only getting a “Bad Gateway” message: I tried accessing the portal through here: https://aima.gov.pt/pt/viver/autorizacao-de-residencia-para-investimento-art-90-o-a/portal-ari
Does anyone have an up-to-date link that works?
i accessed the AIMA website ARI page back in MAY but that was when i was in Loule, now i am back in the uk, the AIMA page wont open correctly, i suspect it is something to do with the IP addresses.
And yes, the www.sef.pt’s ari webpage still works
strange, i’m in Lisbon right now and this site is not working for me
