Well, maybe they bought the property prior to the changes in 2023. The news only is coming out now.
Journalism is awful . Apparently Harry can travel across Europe easily and Meghan canât ? Brits and Americans both have to go by the 90/180 rule -
Yes, is a good example of why you should not trust that ânewsâ outlet⌠which pushed for Brexit so that Brits could be âEU 3rd countryâ just like Americans, Canadians, etc. You would think theyâd know what they argued for and got
True.
But since Prince Philip was Greek they could both qualify for EU citizenship ( him by descent, her by marriage)
Although I think Philip renounced his Greek citizenship in 1947, so that might be an issueâŚ
What r u guys debating on? These trivial technicalities are reserved only for lesser mortals like us (who have to slog for both wealth and residencies). Rules dont apply equally to all.
We were Oct 2022 and havent even done biometrics or got pre approval.
Same ish timeframe here.
August 2022 here and same
June 2022, same.

Octâ 22, turning 60 in a couple of yearsâŚso already 1 leg in coffin and another playing tag in and out of hospitals. Dont know how this GV process will end for me.
Sept-Oct 2022 - no word at all
Actually for me I dont care about the tax residency. I just want the PR and later citizenship and that is a distant dream now

from a news letter from IAS:
Itâs important to note that the new Nationality Act, allowing citizenship applications after five years, doesnât affect Golden Visa processing - you still need a valid residence card for citizenship. Since AIMAâs backlog may continue until late 2025, legal action remains an effective way to expedite your Visa.
