We dont even know what is AIMAās definition of a backlog. Whether that definition even covers GVs or not is an unknown. What action accounts as clearing of backlog?
On time by late 2025? We are in late 2024 going into Christmas holidays in a few weeks. I fully expect AIMA staff efficiency to go down from now onwards. More or less they would be dreaming on the iob, looking forward to bonuses for christams shopping (I wont be surprised if there is such a thing). I cant conceive in my right mind any pathway by which I will be holding my residency card same time next year (when even the pre-approval eludes me).
Hello, would it be possible to provide the latest updates on your case? Did you get the final approval or not yet ?I am asking to know the estimate time to receive final approval from Biometrics when a lawsuit was the driver for the biometric appointment. Thanks in advance
Donāt think like that, I donāt also live in Portugal.
I was little too early in my first one, my lawyer has drafted some business reasons for the urgency as it was their first lawsuit and not much experience.
Second time, they did the constitutional right ā An action for an injunction to protect rights, freedoms, and guaranteesā. And worked.
Congratulations! This just proves that the only way to get a decision from AIMA is a court case. Given you applied in December 2022 (and December 2021 applications arenāt yet fully pre-approved), this is a good outcome.
My lawyer filed a case of my behalf on September 4th, 2024, Iām hoping it isnāt long before I hear something back.
Sorry, looks like I didnāt have enough coffee yet at that point. I meant the initial online application/payment date (Stage 1). Iāve updated my original post.
Enver, can I ask which attorney you used? Weāre working with IAS and now actively considering a lawsuit, but weād like a second opinion. Our IAS attorney also mentioned the same argument yours used. Thanks!
Iām working with IAS via Mercan and just paid them to file a lawsuit this week. We submitted our application 10/19/2022 and would love to inform myself of what to expect. Is there a forum for that? I havenāt noticed one.
IAS and Mercan here as well (June 2022 Portal submission). I am also speaking with IAS about a lawsuit. Hoping that constitutional arguments will suffice as no sufficient urgency argument available.
A little over a month.
In fact, AIMA sent a notification and provided a biometric appointment before even the court gives the final decision but after the judge approved the urgency.
Did your application status progress from āUnder analysisā? It seems the Biometric scheduling people arenāt necessarily coordinated with the application status people
My wife status only went from āunder analysisā to ātransferrredā when she got final approval - which was about 3 or 4 months after her biometrics. Waiting for card.
