Awaiting Pre-Approval (Stage 2)

@ 3a9d5bd7d6977963654a ARI website access is unlikely to be related to an abrupt halt to ARI since this week the Minister of the Interior stated that there would be finalisation (during November) of the legal structure and modality for the new Portuguese Agency for Migrations and Asylum (APMA) to take over SEF admin responsibilities and work effectively thereafter. In all likelihood, it is possible that the loss of ARI website access is related to this transfer of responsibilities. But reorganisations are never simple or timely. So loss of access may not be of a few days’ duration…

all other online applications have access . only ARI is unreachable

Not sure if the corrupted chef has anything involved with ARI :joy:. But it is absolutely desperate. I do not think the new chef will make any difference. They all the same when they have enough political power.

the site is up and running!

What does that mean if the ARI website is working? Are apps getting processed?

Seems like the PT government has intentionally left a vacuum of information on the ARI / GV, which inevitably leads to misinformation and by the unscrupulous, disinformation…

I think it probably just means that, having been down for few days, the portal is accessible again, either to lodge applications, or to view the status of previously lodged applications.

I don’t think it necessarily means existing applications are getting pre-approved. The best indication of that is following this thread, I think.

it has been three weeks since we read about the last pre-approval on this forum. has any one had or heard of any new ones? it seems like the whole thing is frozen…

It’s odd that there were no approved investors in October who did the fund purchase.

700 SEF employees to be transferred to APMA - The Portugal News

This makes sense as these are the people who will know how to process applications, but it also sounds like, at least for GV purposes, the same people will be processing the applications/renewals and the only thing changing is the name of the agency.

True, hopefully it will solve the problem we are all facing currently. Change is expected to happen from end of Q1 2023 so most likely we will continue to see delays until it becomes totally functional.

Apart from the change of name to APMA, does this make any difference to the processing of applications? Perhaps a web based appointment system, automatic appointments notifications, or perhaps, just let people walk in?

Very happy to inform you all that finally we got our pre-approval.
Date of application - Principal applicant - 7th Dec 2021
Date of application - dependents 14th Dec 2021

Pre-approval - All on 16th Nov 2022

It was a 11 months long wait. So, finally things are moving .
