Awaiting Pre-Approval (Stage 2)

As I mentioned already in another thread referring to IAServices, the wholesale ā€˜ban’ on GV for Russians seems to be temporary and also not yet reflected in the law.
So one obvious option for you would be to ā€˜do nothing’ and just wait and sit it out until the current ban is lifted. However there is a risk that PT would actually materialize this ban into the law, making an exclusion for a certain nationality.
Hence the other option for you would be to obtain an alternative ā€˜fast-track’ CBI, and then re-apply for PT GV based on that new nationality. That would require some extra investment, but it may not be a bad option after all depending on your main driver for GV in the first place (i.e. whether you are mainly driven by the ā€˜push’ rather than the ā€˜pull’ factor).

In fact, I am myself pursuing both routes in parallel at the moment, but luckily not due to a nationality constraint.

Thank you!

That’s something worth to explore. Haven’t thought about it! Thanks!

Congrats Seth,

We submitted/paid same date as you. How were you notified please?

There is a change of status on the ARI portal - to ā€œCandidatura Aceiteā€. Whoever set up the application -eg your lawyer- gets a donotreply email: ā€œInformamos que, em x-x-xxxx, foi admitida a candidatura de Autorização de ResidĆŖncia de Investimento (ARI) a [your namexxxxxxxxxxx]ā€¦ā€.

Which I never received for some reason… Neither for myself, nor for my dependants.
And yes, I did set up my own application on the SEF portal, no lawyer involved.[quote=ā€œOnward, post:133, topic:45298, full:trueā€]

ARI status changed, but no email? Inconsistent response then. Helpful for Debbie (and others) to know.

Yes, exactly. I mentioned this earlier in the thread when reporting my pre-approval timelines.

I can now confirm that in my case my lawyer did get the email of pre approval. It just did not come to me also (even though I have Portal access). My lawyer sent me a screenshot of the email he received.

Congratulations Rob, when did you apply?

Thanks Rob. That means they only send it to the lawyer’s email, which I don’t have…

I should have linked to my earlier post here.

I am a September 2021 application with a January 2022 preapproval.

Yes. You would think if there was no lawyer, then the message would go directly to you.
But then again, you would also think both the individual and lawyer would be notified as well.

Pls update us when you get pre-approved. We might have to wait a couple more months

I applied and paid on 30 November, still not heard anything :frowning:

Hi @emailtoasifali , seems that SEF has only notified those who have received the pre-approval (online) in the first quarter 2021. Yesterday we have received some notifications from SEF. So things might be moving forward…

My lawyers inform me that SEF are reviewing new applications made in early Nov, so hopefully they will rapidly get to 30 Nov applications so you can get pre-approval. :slightly_smiling_face:

@DumontdosSantos - Good to know that SEF appointment for biometrics may be moving forward!

Finally, application accepted today, applied/paid 4th Nov 2021.

So now the long wait for Biometrics .
