Apparently there isnāt much news! 
SEF is enjoying summer vacation! I think things will pick back up in September.
I hope SEF give me a summer vacation from this eternal torture of waiting!

Applied mid Oct-22. Main applicant (real estate route). still waiting. Regret making the investment. The only positive was deciding to delay incorporation of company till I could get easy access to Portugal and supervise operations personally. Have since changed my mind from making further investments in Portugal (not that it matters to Portuguese govt. or people) but the whole experience has left a bad taste in mouth.

Yeah, Application submitted in Oct-22. Considering taking SEF to court but have come to realize there also the outcome is not always positive for the applicant.
Crazy news, I thought it will never happen.
Got pre approved, applied 27dec21, paid 29dc21

It does, and to theres still a few more Timeline entries for applications in 2021 waiting for pre-approvalā¦but getting closer to 2022

Other than losing the lawsuit, what negative impact would it have? Our lawyers assure us a lawsuit against sef does not impact your application if the lawsuit fails.
Yeah, nothing other than losing the lawsuit in addition to sacrificing a few thousand hard earned euros.
Everyone has different priorities, but for me at least, the idea of having the process take years more than I intended, and keeping my money tied up in subpar funds in Portugal, far outweighs spending a couple thousand Euros. I would also love to not have to do it (and share similar regrets about getting myself into this mess), but I do plan to file a suit.

For me it was a choice between waiting years or spending 2500 euros aka 1% of my āinvestmentā in PT on a lawsuit. The potential of speeding things up was worth the risk!

More than 30% of Dec 2021 applications are yet to be approved which means thus i assume that we still have around 3 months to close 2021 backlog and start with 2022.
