if you’re going off of the database, assume some folks haven’t updated
Where are you getting these numbers?
the below screenshot is a brief analysis for Dec applications
to note that first pre-approval for Dec 2021 was in Sept/ Oct 2022 - more than 10 months ago and the majority are in the last 6 months.
another Note is that Dec applications nb as per the data are higher than the whole 2022 applications nb
Our problem, statistically speaking, is that we do not know how well (or badly) the database represents the full population of applications for GV, nor whether 100% of the proportion of those who contribute to the database have updated their information. I believe we have a skewed sample in this forum.
If the database represents the full population very well and everybody has updated, then your analysis will be spot on. Otherwise, not.
What we do know is that within our database, there are many who have not yet been pre-approved, and therefore not obtained an invitation for biometrics. And therefore SEF is definitely not past the Dec 2021 hump.
Suggests to me that the numbers of applications in Dec 21 were enormous…
All we really know is that sef isnt done with Dec 2021, IMO. Our database lacks the majority of applicants.
I kind of wonder if Dec 2021 had more applicants than all other prior months combined…
Hello! Newbie here.
My application was submitted Aug 9, 2023.
Now, I hurry up and WAIT.
Obviously still “Application Under Analysis”, and will be for, what, 18+ months?
Welcome to the waiting game. You’re in for a LONG wait.
Yeah - we were told upfront that the 5 Year Process is closer to a 10 year process. We’re ready to wait!
Sure, but it’s frustrating though. Especially, if you are preparing to reside and work in Portugal, with your family. Germany and Italy are somehow changing their laws to favor foreigners who to and work there. Germany in particular is reducing the length of years from 8 to 5 for citizenship acquisition.
If you want to reside and work in Portugal, you dont need to waste time and money on a golden visa.
D7 is definitely a better option in that case. Fast and economical.
Dont know why this is incorrect in a previous post. Applied Oct 12, 2021, pre approval May 2021, biometric appointment Jan 2023, and still waiting because FBI couldn’t read my fingerprints after 6 submissions. Sent the SEF an apostilled State criminal background check and waiting, waiting, waiting.
Awww… I have already submitted application for PT GV. Meanwhile, my family wanna be there soonest though I wouldn’t be there. What can I do now to change for the D7?. Since it is fast and economical.
Any advice in this regard, would appreciated.
For people who can’t spend 6 months in PT every year, GV is still the best option.
And for those who are not able to apply thru Portuguese Embassy in their home country, GV is the best option regardless of the bureaucratic issues.
Could you share me the reasons why some people are not able to apply through PT embassy in their countries?
I really don’t know
My country does not have Portuguese embassy.
To apply, I would have to travel to other country and apply at the Portuguese embassy there. However, with the usual inconsistancy (as it is normal when dealing with portuguese authority), it could take several trips back&forth to apply and submit all documents with biometric at the regional embassy. Big hassle (during Covid, it was even impossible to do so)
I thought you were in China ignoring the first sentence
I wish I came from China
