2. You should not need to go to Portugal before your biometrics appointment. We didn’t have to. I only had to show the required proof of legal entry to Portugal at my biometric appointment. It is basically showing them an entry stamp when you enter Schengen area. (They will ask for a boarding pass or itinerary if you got the entry stamp in another country before arriving to Portugal)
