Criminal records: 90 days expiration date before paying the application fee

Our application was submitted but not paid yet. Do we need to pay before the certificate expires or is it a gray area? We are sorting things out with the lawyers but I don’t want to rush them if the payment date doesn’t play a crucial role compared to the submission date.

On a side note, since we started the process without lawyers initially and we had no translation, just the apostille in English, is it ok to leave the submitted application like that? I think we can’t change the application after the submission anyway.

Merry Christmas everyone! :christmas_tree:

Merry Christmas!

Payment date is important. The sooner the better.

Portuguese transcript is mandatory and that too has to be apostilled.

You may have to still submit fresh documents later as the ARI process is in eternal slumber and the documents validity will expire by the time final approval comes.

Your priority should be closing things with the lawyer so that they can start guiding u (precisely the thing that u r paying them for) rather than solely relying on mine or anyone else’s feedback on the forum.

Not exactly the correct way, but more of a crutch if you cannot do it ‘proper’ at this stage (but it may not work at the bio stage).

  1. The correct way - have your non-PT document translated by a PT-based official translator, and have their translation notarized by a PT notary.
  2. The workaround that @goel.shashank85 probably refers to - have your document translated in your home country, have it notarized, and then place apostille on the notarized document (this is called a double apostille method).

Yeah, u r right. I stand corrected.
