E-Apostille for criminal record accepted in Portugal?

For the new AIMA document updates, criminal record with apostille is need to be updated. My country issues E-Apostilles for criminal records which is like a normal one but instead of a physical paper this is an electronically signed PDF.

Since I am not in my country right now I can’t pick up physical criminal record with apostille, but I can get E-Apostilled criminal record online through government website after paying the fee. Is it accepted in Portugal?

I am saying for Türkiye, you can get the apostilled criminal record from the courthouses(Adliye) that have the Justice Commission Presidency(Adalet Komisyonu Başkanlığı).

But you have to be there in person. I am also considering to use e-apostilled documents like @dgkn

Could you figure out how to get a document showing your TAX ID in your home country (in this case, Türkiye) with an (e-)apostille?

A general rule for any country is to make a notarized copy and then place apostille on the notary’s signature. This method applies to any document that cannot be apostilled directly (i.e. the original is not signed by a public official).

You can get a document “mükellefiyet durumunu gösterir belge” / document indicatiting taxpayer status from this website “https://dijital.gib.gov.tr/”, have it translated by a sworn translator, notarized, and apostilled by the district governor’s office(kaymakamlık).

Thanks for the info. I am asking for E-Apostille. It is like a normal criminal record but instead of a physical paper this is an electronically signed PDF. I can easily get Judicial record document here without going to Turkey in person https://www.eapostil.gov.tr/

Better than e-apostille if you are not in Turkiye;

Embassy > Get a signed & stamped criminal record > Translate it to local language > Take a noter copy > Take an apostille > Translate all to Portuguese and apostilled again
Or
Embassy > Give power of attorney “muvafakatname” to the person you assign in Turkiye (write every detail that he/she will get criminal record and will apostille it etc etc., post poa original to assigned person

I will make sure first if Portugal accepts e-apostilled criminal recdord from eapostil gov tr. May I ask why do you need a document showing your TAX ID in your home country? My lawyer didn’t ask such a document for golden visa.

Getting e-apostilled criminal record from eapostil gov tr is only $3 and takes a few minutes online. If Portugal accepts e-apostille, this is a very convenient way to do it.

If it is not accepted, I will do the POA as you mentioned in the last paragraph.

When is your appointment ? Please share your result with e-apostille , it will be a huge improvement.

I’ve used it in the past (2021 & 2023), it works.

My GV application was submitted in June, 2022 for SEF pre-approval. Nothing happened until last week, I was asked to update my criminal record with apostille so AIMA can give me a appointment date for biometrics. I will share the results

Thanks, that’s a huge relief! Did you get it from here https://www.eapostil.gov.tr/ and did it work for GV application?

yes to both questions

Simply because AIMA requires it as standard for all GV paths:

I recommend always checking the official source for requirements when available, besides consulting with your lawyer.

Thanks for the info, Tommy. I have a national identity card with my ID on it. My lawyers said this ID is accepted. I think since national ID number is considered as personal tax ID in Turkey, the national identity card is accepted as “a document showing your TAX ID in your home country”. I will double check with my lawyers again

I am not so sure about that…
What about your Vergi Kimlik No? Is it not separate from your T.C. Kimlik No?

I just checked my national id number and personal tax id number and they are the same numbers. Dide some research: since 2006 they are the same numbers for Turkish citizens according to Official Gazette: https://www.resmigazete.gov.tr/eskiler/2006/08/20060829-13.htm

Here is more info as well https://www.istanbulymmo.org.tr/Data/Platform/1246.pdf
