While the law says the applications have to be checked within 30 days, the law also says that residency applications have to be approved within 90 days but that law hasn’t been followed for years. Until the early applications started rolling in, IRN was taking months if not years to review applications. IRN has a new AI program to help them speed up processing, but they’ve clearly been directed to weed out as many incomplete applications as they can find.

Are your applications definitely in Porto? In the whatsapp group, all but one of the faltas are from Lisbon.

@Beanieskis Turns out, you’re 100% correct to ask! I spoke with our lawyers this morning. We submitted four applications on the same day. I learned today that two were routed to Lisbon and both have now received faltas. The other two went to Porto and so far we’ve heard nothing.

Regardless of what their laws say, 99.9% of Faltas they issue are issued after about 2 years
i wonder how much money owners of this website are taking from portugal’s marketing agency. they really want to control every narrative here

If you’re referring to the removal of your post that just read “sounds like BS”, that was flagged by community members as being inappropriate and which was then removed by a community moderator.
While I had nothing to do with that removal, for the record, I agree with it.
If you put a bit more effort and civility into your posts they will of course be left untouched. Calling someone else’s thoughtful post BS without backing it up with legitimate arguments won’t.
I’d suggest reviewing the forum rules before participating further.

Has anyone else had their lawyer delay sending in their paperwork? Our lawyer has had our apostilled, updated documents for nearly 2 weeks, but keeps telling us that there are “people ahead of us” and they need “more time.” Our documents expire at the end of next week, and although they are aware of the date I’m terrified they will miss this deadline. We already have a falta and it would not be possible for me to get all new docs again within 30 days if these expire. Based on discussion in this forum, it sounds like my application would be rejected immediately if this happens. Does anyone else have a lawyer who is being nonchalant about urgent documents? We are calling and emailing almost daily but the urgency never changes. I’m worried I’m going to have to go to Lisbon to confront them in person.
maybe this is their way of asking for more money?
i guess i watched too many movies. i don’t think portugal has a marketing agency caring about any narratives out there
