I paid on Sunday i think it’s 48 hours . Anyways what is the status of Under processing
Last year it said 48 hours, as I quoted earlier, looks like they’ve updated the guidance to two working days.
Anyway, I wouldn’t worry overmuch - the most frequent failure case is that the bank won’t see the reference number in the system and throw an error immediately, and refuse to let you pay. If your bank let it through it’s probably OK. There was one report of a Bison bank transfer which did go through but went into limbo for 3 weeks, but hopefully that’s specific to Bison or to that situation.
I received both guidelines in the same email, the email text itself said 48 hours, but the PDF attached to the email said two working days.
Mine still says awaiting payment for now. But higher in this thread people were saying it often takes a week to update after payment.
No way that you are screwed.
Fee is 177 Euros. If you want to play safe, wait 2-3 days and pay again. AIMA will receive double what they need. But for sure paying extra 177E will cause zero damage to your life.
I am a primary ARI (via Real Estate) holder with a Feb, 2024 (Q1) renewal and received word from SEF/AIMA via email on June 30 that I could renew online. This didn’t work initially but after monitoring this helpful forum, I tried again yesterday and was able to submit without incident. Like others have shared, I was charged €177.40 so I am cautiously optimistic that this will be significant compensation for the delays (I was expecting €3,650 per renewal)! Still waiting for my spouse to be able to renew as a family member. Some of these SEF notification mails ended up in my Junk/SPAM folder so I would encourage others to look there periodically.
My status just updated to $Resources:status_2000;
Very confidence inspiring. Luckily clicking through to “Detalhes do Pedido” it says “Pedido em Processamento” which is more promising. So I guess the 48 hours is probably enough after all.
Just checking with the group on the ARI autorenewals.
I am the primary, and we did a RE investment through Mercan. I was auto-renewed in December 2023.
I have two adult kids who are students. we filed lawsuits and heard quickly that the court agreed to biometrics on one of my kids. The biometrics happened within 2 weeks.
However, the other one is still waiting to hear. I am inclined to try the online SEF process that you’re describing.
Just to triple check - is the auto renewal working for “non-primary” ARI residency renewals- or is it just for the primary applicant?
thank you.
I have my GV through Mercan and my card expires in 2 weeks. I get the following message when I try to auto-renew. Do I have to wait until the card is expired to try to auto renew or is this some other issue?
“Your residence permit does not allow you to use the “automatic renewal” feature. For more information, the SEF Contact Center is available every working day from 8:00 to 20:00 on the following numbers: 808 202 653 (landline) or 808 962 690 (mobile).”
“O título de residência que possui não permite a utilização da funcionalidade “renovação automática”. Para mais informações, o Centro de Contacto do SEF está ao seu dispor, todos os dias úteis, das 8:00 às 20:00 através dos números – 808 202 653 (rede fixa) ou 808 962 690 (rede móvel).”
Thanks!
I just checked and have the same thing. Worth a screenshot for that status code
When was DUC issued and date when payment was made. Thx
same thing for ours. I have been checking this even though we have also filed lawsuits to see if I could supersede things by obtaining online approval. No such luck.
I am sorry you are seeing this. It is really a troubling message. it’s like one standard boilerplate message for everyone. It makes one feel as if there is a serious lacking or mistake on ones part. They should instead state “Hey, renewer. We are sorry we are such a stupid gov institute which cannot handle so many requests because we have taken more than we can chew”.
hi I have been notified today by my lawyer mentioning that is a Aima IT Bug . and the account will be charged fully
please can you double check !?

I just checked and have the same thing. Worth a screenshot for that status code
I logged in today to get a screenshot but my status already changed to “Concluído”!
Hopefully that means the reduced fee is actually correct! Now just an unknown wait until they mail the card to my lawyers.
Just checked and same – hopefully that means it’s literally the same as “completed” (the statuses listed at the top of this thread) and card will be printed next.
Money aside, the big question for me is when the dependents will be allowed to renew… I was hoping theirs’ will be automatically unblocked once it’s “concluído…” (not quite yet).
I too got the “$Resources:status_2000;” message. Hopefully it will soon change to Concluido.
Hi,
When did you make the payment. Thx
Morning this week
Hello all,
I am in the same boat. Card expired Mar 2024… got an email for automatic renewal on 30 Jun… faced errors till this week, and finally was able to submit automatic renewal form and paid EUR 177.4
Questions for those who have seen status change from Awaiting Payment to $Resource to Concluido… how many days did it take to go from Awaiting Payment → $Resources: status_2000 —> Concluido… and subsequently…
I paid on 17 Jul, and my status still shows as awaiting payment on 18 Jul>>
Thank you
So what happens after primary applicant makes the payment for renewal? What are the next steps? When do other family members get notification for renewal?
