How to remove Portuguese NIF fiscal tax representative (while still resident outside Portugal)

According to Bordr

Who this is for

  • You are waiting for your residence card to be issued
  • Your plans have changed and you are no longer moving to Portugal

Hi, I want to know if a fiscal rep is still necessary when I get the residency card. Then I need to stay 7 days a year to renew the card.

I have accessed my account on the Tax Authority website. Under Dados de Contacto, there is no email address or phone number listed. When I attempt to enter my info, I get a message: “Por motivos de ordem técnica não é possível responder ao seu pedido, por favor tente mais tarde.” (Due to technical reasons, we are unable to respond to your request. Please try again later.) Has anyone else encountered this? Should I just try again in an hour/day/week? I would imagine my online request today to activate electronic notifications will not take effect unless I’m able to add my contact info.

I have been facing the same problem since the last 4-5 months. I too haven’t found a solution as yet.

That’s strange. I was able to enter my email address and phone number on the website just last night along with my request to activate electronic notifications. I am in Portugal and used a chrome browser if that matters at all.

It may have more to do with the estado appearing as ‘por confirmar’ as in the screenshot below

But I cannot be sure.
An even if it is, what is required of me ? I feel literally like my id :slightly_frowning_face:

Thanks for the input. I have tried using Chrome (from my PC), Edge (from my PC), and IOS (from my phone), and I get the same error message regardless. I also tried selecting the option to activate 2-factor authorization when I first logged in, and that produced the same error as well – upon logging in, before I even navigated to the Dados de Contacto page. I’m in the US, but I don’t see why that should matter. By the way, what format did you use for your phone #? I entered +1 415 412 **** (actual last 4 digits omitted here). It seemed to accept that after I tried other formats unsuccessfully, so I doubt that’s the problem, but please let me know how you did it.

I have a Portuguese phone number, so that might be the difference. I was able to enter my Portuguese number without a country code and the use of the + symbol. Often these government websites in Portugal get confused with symbols and more than nine digits in a phone number. That’s the only thing I can think of as to why you are having issues.
