Is it Lawsuit time? (Processing times)

Some more detail here of the task force to address the AIMA backlogs, which is to start work in September:

Circus show keeps going…if someone believes in this show, I only say: “amen”

Also AIMA seems to have hired a law firm to handle pending court cases at 50 euros a pop.

Wonder what impact that will have on future cases. Thus far they never really seem to respond to anything in court so they are losing them all by default.

I would like to know why I am being charged 1650 euros but AIMA is only paying 50 euros.

If we fantasize that best-case they’ll be “up and running in September” … like Sept 1st… then given their mandated end date of June 2, 2025 that’s 274 calendar days.

Excluding weekends and Portuguese (national) public holidays, now we’re at 189 days. And of course nobody works between Christmas and New Year’s so knock a few more off for that week.

No doubt there’s still recruiting, vetting and training yet to do. Couple more months not actually moving cases along?

Oh yeah and then there’s the current strike against overtime, and the Union’s opposition to all these temps being hired when they want due-paying permies doing this work.

I’d say “place your bets,” but by putting your hundreds of thousands into this pathetic lottery/joke/circus you already have! :sob:

Hi, which step are you in now?

I had biometrics in March ‘23.

Not true, I filed in December, and they responded to my case

Congratulations! If you don’t mind can you tell me how much notice you were given for the biometric appointment?

Hi Amrit, I was notified by my lawyer on 25th of July 2024 for the finger print appointment on 6th of September 2024.

Not much time to arrange travel and get updated documents apostilled!

Hi Amrit, I managed to complete all documents from 3 different countries, get them apostilled and booked for my flights and the hotel.
Looking forward to complete the finger print process. :crossed_fingers:

Abreu Advogados. It was around 1500 Euro if I remember correctly. The suit itself was rather impressive, like 60+ pages, with them alleging wrongdoing on all sorts of legal, humanitarian and moral grounds by AIMA. I was stunned and it was very obviously an open and shut case as soon as I saw the document. Well worth the cost.

After waiting well over 2 years for a PT pre-approval, I would like to cut my losses and move on. I am invested in a fund. Does anyone have any information on selling or withdrawing from a fund.

Did you already try a lawsuit?

This other thread may help - at least the March 2024 postings before it sort of wandered off-topic:

In case you filed a lawsuit earlier, received an unfavorable ruling, and did not proceed with an appeal immediately; the judges are not entertaining duplicate lawsuits anymore- feedback from my lawyer when asked to submit another lawsuit around 1 year after losing the first one.

But nobody has an answer on the remedies available to me.
