Administrative court’s ‘task force’ for AIMA proceedings will be extended.

The task force of administrative courts will be extended to try to end the thousands of lawsuits against the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA). The measure was approved at the meeting of the Superior Council of Administrative and Tax Courts (CSTAF) this Tuesday, September 22. The work will continue until January 30, 2027, an official source from the council confirmed to DN.
This team, initially composed of 28 judges working on a case-by-case basis, has been operating since April with a backlog of 125,000 pending cases . In June, the number had fallen to 108,000 and, in August, to 93,000, according to recent data released by the CSTAF.
On September 18th, the backlog was 89,000 cases. This represents a reduction of 36,000 cases, or 28.8%, compared to the initial backlog . Since April, 36,000 cases have been decided …
