Portuguese SIM to receive SMS while in the US

Hi, we are trying to decide on a Portuguese SIM card we can buy so we can receive SMS from Portuguese utility provides while we are in the US. We wont be using these for calls and will just limit the usage to get SMS for verification services while we are outside of Portugal. It needs to be a Portuguese number. Thank you.

I initially bought a NOS sim-card on ebay, their cheapest pre-paid tariff I believe is called smth like ‘Libre Dia’. Activation is automatic, can top-up online etc. but I never used it outside of Europe. This needs to be used every 90 days for a paid call/sms otherwise it will be blocked. Generally most people use whatsapp over here and some companies do as well. I have had no issues with NOS SMS service over here though I did with my American sim.

I use Vodafone
