Type C (short stay) or Type D (Nation Visa) For Biometrics appointment:

Question for AIMA Biometrics (ARI / Golden Visa)

I’d like to ask about real-world experience.
For those who attended Biometrics, what type of visa did you use to enter Portugal for your AIMA biometrics appointment?

  • Type C (Schengen)
  • or Type D (National)

I recently applied for a **Type C visa via TLS **, but TLS called to inform me that the Consulate has flagged my case and may consider changing it to a Type D visa. They said the Consulate may contact me again after reviewing my documents.

I’m trying to understand what is commonly accepted in practice and whether others have faced a similar situation, so I can respond properly to the Consulate based on real experiences.

Thanks very much in advance

If consulate issues Type D, it is better for you.

Type D is understood that you are going to Portugal to finalise your long term residency.

Type C is a tourist visa.

Aima does not care which one you have as long as you enter the country legally (show them passport stamp and boarding pass).
