Valerio Partners / Borders X

Hi all. Has anyone used Valerio Partners (aka BordersX ) to facilitate their GV application?

I have. I would recommend them, but I am not sure I would recommend a Portuguese GV to anyone if I knew what I know now 3 years agoā€¦

Can you elaborate? I am close to jumping on this, but skeptical of this taking 9 years (which is just too long for me).

There are people who applied early 2016 and got citizenship late this year so 8.5 years seems to be historically correct.

But if anything delays have increased so I wouldnā€™t be surprised if it takes more than 9 years going forward.

I heard that given the date of application starts the clock (as opposed to in the past), and that with some help of AI and these lawsuits, things are moving faster. Any truth in this?

I would recommend Valerio Partners if you are looking an adviser to help you choose funds, choose a lawyer, learn about the process of the GV application and get all docs in place for your application. I did this, they did not charge a fee, but they received a payment from the funds I invested in afterwards (which they were were upfront about). Obviously this scenario is not the same as paying a fully independent adviser yourself. It is good to take as much advice as possible before choosing funds and to consider carefully any recommendations made to you.

I would not recommend the Portuguese GV process to anyone now, but it possibly fills a gap in the market for some, on the basis of low cost compared to other EU GVs and minimal in-country time commitment.

You might want to look at other threads which discuss this in more detail.

When I started the GV process, 3 years ago, I thought it might take 7 years to receive citizenship. Now, 9+ years from starting might be a sensible estimate. If time since application counts as residence time, then maybe everything may be still completed within 7 years of application. If the clock starts at biometrics, the near 2-year delay from application to biometrics will set that back. If it starts at card issue, 7 years has become 10+ years.
