@mohammadreza but then why would your lawyers ask to submit documents again? Maybe similar to @Hippopotamousse it changed. My lawyers are saying no need to submit documents again but I am not really sure. Let’s keep ourselves updated
For me, the status in SEF/AIMA ARI Portal only changed on the beginning. Neither at the time I got a bio appointment nor when I did the biometric it did not changed!
By the way I got the email from AIMA directly and my lawyer asked me to renew all the documents.
The whole program and what has happened to me there are strange both, so I am not surprise if they ask for some documents.
@mohammadreza i am sure a stupid question but worth checking if you can even upload documents on the portal if your status is not “awaiting submission”
Another data point for those still waiting. We (family of 4) just received all our residency cards today. Time line below.
December 2021 initial application
Jan 2023 preapprovals
May 2023 Biometrics (Guarda) - all 4 members
september 2024, final approval + DUC main applicant
November 2024, residence card main applicant and final approval+DUC for 3 family members
December 2024, residence card for 3 family members
No lawsuit.
Hang in there guys. Best of luck!
Wow, no lawsuit! We applied in October 2021, had biometrics in January 2023, won the lawsuit in October 2024, and still waiting…
Congratulations!
Mine was Jan 2023 at Lisbon as well
Anyone heard about the lawyers meeting with AIMA earlier today?
Posted in the thread dedicated to this topic:
The TLDR for this particular group is: no action required by those who’ve completed biometrics; the process continues as before.
I think it’s possible that we get queue-jumped by more recent applicants who perfect their document stack, get a biometrics appointment in the next couple of months and have their cards issued shortly thereafter. Although increased efficiency across the system may perhaps shorten our own timeframes.
I won a lawsuit back in August. Primary received final approval and cards within 2 months. Dependent kids did biometrics on monday and today (three days later) got final approval and message to pay for cards. Pretty amazing speed between biometrics and final approval after waiting 2.5 years to get here. Seems like things are moving quickly these days to clear the decks for the nonlawsuit case coming up.
Wow that’s lightning speed really! Lady luck on your side. My 2.5 yr old did his bio on Dec 20 but nothing yet (was not expecting anything yet anyways, but your post does make me expect a miracle!). Cheers
My status just changed from Candidatura Aceite to Transferred, approx 13 months after competing biometrics. So there is progress… But my dependent, who has not been invited for biometrics, is still showing Aguarda Análise.
I’m getting really, really tired waiting at the end of the line.
Same as you, biometrics done in Jan 2023, still waiting for the final approval.
At Lisbon in Jan 2023, so you are ages of me by 3 months!
Is anyone else who has done biometrics in Coimbra and haven’t received the final approval? I did mine in Feb 2024, no words yet. It seems the latest one on this forum was final approved on 12-10-2024 which did their biometrics 10-31-2023? According to the database.
We have given up hope and honestly, we don’t really care anymore. Did our biometrics in Lisbon in September of 2022. Still nothing. We are undecided if we will even do anything if we ever do get approved. May just ignore it at this point.
I think things are moving. They also said they are going to process everyone chronogically from Jan 15 and that the decisions will be made in 90 days after receipt of documents. Aima also apparently confirmed that you will get to apply for citizenship or permanent residence 5 years from the date you paid the initial application fee, so i imagine you will get your final approval and cards in the next few months and apply for whatever long term status you want this or next year since you must have paid the intial application fee in 2021 or 2022. My kids did biometrics on Jan 6 and got final approval 3 days later so i think they are trying to clear everything for the work starting on Jan 15.
I’m August 2023 so well ahead of that and still waiting. I think tons of people are, we’ve seen only limited approvals out of Coimbra.
Coimbra has been ticking forward slowly but steadily. I did mine in Feb 2023 and got approval June 2024. After that i saw approvals from March, May, and August 2023. They’ll get to you eventually.
