They seem to be well passed Sept 2022 for Lisbon approvals. I’ve seen Jan 2023 approvals recently. If you’re still waiting I’d follow-up in case there’s an issue.
The latest datapoint who received Final Approval for appointments in Coimbra is 10-31-2023. I think you’ll receive yours very soon.
Please do share if someone hear’s from their lawyer from the AIMA session earlier today ARI pending cases:
Yes please! English subtitles weren’t keeping up and the Portuguese was beyond my language skills
The little bit I was listening for in that call…
Hope you have seen Thomas’s posting in the private lounge.
We are trying to modify some procedures which have delayed the conclusion of the process, but those with biometrics completed do not have to do anything.
No dates or timeframes are given. But there is reference to the fact that the recovery plan is set up to deal mainly with cases that began in 2019 to 2021 some of whom have done biometrics, and some have not. These are considered applicants who have been the most disadvantaged both from the pandemic and the astronomic number of ARI requests that were registered towards the end of 2021, and the “recovery” plan is to safeguard (the word used was salvaguarda) them first. We shall see…
Yup, I was just commenting on Thomas’ post - here’s my attempt to fill in the summary’s gaps for applicants who have already completed Biometrics…
What about those who have done biometrics and are waiting for approval and their families have not yet recieved the approval to make appointment for biometrics?
Just did biometrics january 15, 2025
Paid the fees via credit card. Around 6k euros
Waiting for final approval!
Initial application june 2023
Lawsuit april 2024 via the normal way
Biometrics sked released november 2024
90 working days for aima decision and card issuance. Yes they have a record in the system that i sued them so they said the card might come out FASTER
Well seems like a lawsuit didnt do much since the path to citizenship starts at the date you paid for pre approval…
Can we assume that those who have done their biometrics will also receive their results in 90 days starting from now?
Already two years since I did biometrics in Lisbon… I think those who have done their biometrics long ago is in another waiting pool.
Did you use a US credit card and not debit?
As the one who applied in December 2019 and his application approved on March 2020 and finally did biometric in May 2023, and still waiting, the “chronological process” claim of AIMA only reminds me the similar “chronological process” of SEF, announced in 2022, and as the result I had to file a lawsuit to get biometric appointment. However, I have heard unsettling reports that AIMA does not always comply with court rulings, which I sincerely hope is not the case.
The entire Golden Visa investment process, for me, feels akin to being stuck in quicksand. While I tell myself that once I receive my residence card, I can promptly apply for citizenship, the reality feels far less certain—almost as if there is no light at the end of this tunnel.
Hoping for the best!
Thats what i wrote
I believe we are all interested if it was a PT credit card or foreign that you used successfully.
Many folks here do not have no PT credit cards…
Did you write to me? I only see that you sent me something- not what it was.
Two of my dependents got 1st cards today.
Full data is here
Card is valid for 2 years.
Date written on card is about 7 days after DUC’s payment.
Final approval was issued 4 months after the Biometric.
Total time from initial submission to 1st card in hand: 4 years 8 months !!!
Roughly along the lines:
*Within the scope of resolving the pending cases of ARI, AIMA will arrange a meeting to share clarifications with the applicants and their legal representatives on 14th of January, between the hours of 15:30 and 17:00. *
The meeting will be held at the Auditorium of Judicial Association in Braga and also will be re-transmitted on-line.
The registration for the in-person or on-line meeting should be conducted over the following e-mail: associacaojuridicabraga@gmail.com
Well, unfortunately the time for this meeting is already passed. Maybe someone’s lawyer who attended would be able to shed some light into what has actually transpired.
Great timing for the citizenship application then, probably no need to ever renew!
