Do you know why your file was moved there if your biometrics were in Lisbon?
I believe sometime last year AIMA started reassigning some of the Lisbon cases waiting for final approval to other offices throughout Portugal in order to ease the excessive workload.
How to find out were the file is? My lawyer says that he can’t call them and there is no response to his emails!
Is your lawyer adding “ARI” in the subject line of the emails? Supposedly they have a filter to highlight those emails now.

I was told that I will get my card max in 2 months, but I havent received anything so far.
My lawyer says that she keeps sending emails to AIMA but no response.
Anyone experienced similar?

The wait is over. My lawyer just informed me that they have received the final approval for me and my family today. Our timelines is as follows:
Application submission: Oct 2021
Pre-approval: Feb 2022
Invitation for Biometrics: Dec 2022
Biometrics: 23 March 2023 (Lisbon)
Lawsuit (No)
Final Approval: 24 Jan 2025
The DUC has been generated for € 6,045.20 for each of the applicant.
I will update the timeline shortly.

Interesting, and congrats! So AIMA has skipped over a lot of Jan/Feb 2023 biometrics cases and approved yours. As has been suggested, it looks like Lisbon files have been passed around the country - I guess yours ended up somewhere where they had capacity to review it.

We did biometrics in Porto not in Lisbon.
Just FYI, my final approval came from Madeira even though my and my wife’s biometrics were in Lisbon. Indeed, shuffling files around to other field offices seems to be the present modus operandi.

Yes they did and it came from the Lisbon office.

Next step is payment due this week.
Approval received almost 2 years after the biometric appt. Looks like Lisbon files are indeed moving!

Congratulations to both of the March Biometric applications from Lisbon that were recently approved!
Interestingly, both applications were originally filed in October 2021. This suggests that AIMA might be prioritizing approvals based on the application date, or perhaps these files were transferred from Lisbon to another processing center for review.

I agree with you, that sounds reasonable as I remember AIMA said recently that they will focus on the application of the Year 2021. I did biometric in Lisbon in January 25th, 2023 but filed in Dec 2021. So still waiting…

I submitted my application on 29 November 2021, and my biometric appointment in Lisbon was on 31 January 2023. However, I still haven’t received any updates. Waiting patiently, hoping that someday there will be light at the end of the tunnel!
