Awaiting Pre-Approval (Stage 2)

No Lawsuit. Initial application was Oct 22.
The appt is for main investor and spouse. We have no dependents. Only uploaded our newly apostilled documents about a month ago. Both same place, time and day. Got an email from my lawyer.

Congrats, great news! I applied a few months before you and submitted fresh documents around the same time. Fingers crossed.

The age is checked at the biometric date, so if anyone turns 18 before the biometric they’d need a full set of adult documents.

Thanks for the information.

I’m really unable to understand, how a birth certificate be regenerated again with validity of 6 months

I have been given a biometric date in June for me and all dependents. My original application (and most of my dependents) was Oct 2022 but my youngest child’s application was Jun 2023. All of our appointments are on the same day.

I did get all my documents updated, however I don’t know exactly when my lawyer uploaded them because they told me for several weeks the portal wouldn’t let them upload the new documents.

12 months for a birth certificate.

“About SEF appointment date on D-category visa”
Can anyone please tell me , what is meaning of Date mentioned on D category visa, and how long it will take to get approval for TRC in Portugal after arrival?

Which country were your child(ren) born in?

Hi is there any news about new appointments ?

If you’re indeed awaiting pre-approval, the thread below about the ‘new process’ is also worth keeping tabs on. Some people are finally getting appointments - start reading from here…

Posted on WhatsApp group as well, but putting it here, too!

Finally got the email from our attorney to send updated documents (yay!). But she did say they needed to be translated into Portuguese. I had thought that documents in English no longer needed to be translated into Portuguese, however. It guess is possible that she sent a boiler plate list that goes out to all her GV clients no matter where they are located. Has anyone here sent updated documents in English?

Just let them translate them to Portuguese, it’s not gonna hurt. Worst case, it’s redundant.

On the other hand, we have a Whatsapp group?

good idea. I’ll ask them to do the translation if it is required. It isn’t a nomadgate Whatsapp group. It’s just a Whatsapp group for people who are doing the Golden Visa. Not sure if I’m allowed to post the link here, though.

I have suggestion , can each one of us request his lawyer to send AIMA request for another meeting same as what they have done early this year to check with them why AIMA did not commit to their promise during that meeting as they promised stating from 15 of January they will send appointment and all pending will be settled before end of June , can we ?

How soon after I pay the analysis fee will my status change on the AIMA portal?

So slightly off topic, but I figured I’d post here because I am still awaiting Pre-Approval. Today I would like to join the Hands Off! protests in the US, but my fear is that if something goes wrong that I could be arrested and then that would show up on my FBI report, correct?

These are mass protests and unless you engage in property destruction or violence you shouldn’t be arrested. Even then it will be by local law enforcement and does not necessarily involve FBI. Be safe respectful and careful

Although bear in mind that the FBI report will include state and local arrests provided they have been reported to the FBI or if fingerprints are taken. That’s why AIMA accepts the FBI report as authoritative, and doesn’t seek additional state reports. Whether AIMA cares about an arrest for unlawful assembly or disturbing the peace, assuming non-violent, is debatable.

I went and it was fine! Thanks for your input.

Hello everyone, I recently went through the process of re-submitting Apostilled documents and found a great company that completed everything in just two weeks! I’ll share the details below.

First, we completed our FBI background check, which took only 2 days via National Background Check. I opted for the scanned version, allowing me to send the results directly to the Apostille service, saving significant time compared to mailing.

Next, we needed to Apostille our marriage certificate. This is done through your Department of State, and in Florida, it’s managed via the Florida Department of State. Ensure the document is certified with a raised seal. Since we had already sent our original certificate to our Lisbon attorney in 2022, we needed to request another from VitalChek. We opted for rush processing, which allowed the certificate to be sent directly to the Department of State for Apostille, and this was completed within a few days. A few follow-up phone calls helped expedite the process. We now have several certified copies of our Marriage Certificates for future use.

Afterward, we sent everything to our contact in Washington, D.C. The company we worked with was WDC Apostille & Legalization Services. Ksenia, the owner, was fantastic!!! She even waited for our Apostilled marriage certificates to send everything together to our attorney in Portugal, saving us $85. The process was straight forward and efficient. From the day we made the appointment for our FBI Background check to the day the documents arrived in Lisbon at our attorney’s office, it took 3 weeks total.

FYI: The Portuguese translation is being done thru our Attorney. Most Solicitors in Portugal should have that option available.
