Sounds like our exact situation. I’m getting new copies of docs/apostilles and will resubmit as soon as possible. Hoping for a biometrics appt this year (after initial application in April 2023).
Hi! We’re really happy with Henley. The team is extremely professional, very well connected and we really appreciate all the hand-holding.
Our relationship manager has gone above and beyond to keep us updated, especially since the program underwent a lot of changes just after we signed up in 2022, and we have relocated to another country since then.
We have bugged them with a thousand different questions (and also the same question a thousand times!), and they have always been prompt, patient and polite with their answers, and tried to reassure us as best they can.
They’ve made the process so much smoother and we feel much more relaxed knowing that they are double-checking stuff like documents and will remind us if something needs to be done or if there is some govt update we’ve missed.
They have also helped us with introductions to the bank, (and with changing banks), introduction to tax lawyer, translators etc.
And they were invaluable in helping us file a lawsuit since we are keen to move to Portugal as soon as possible, and also in organizing the biometrics appointment after that.
So all in all it has been well worth it for us.

Do we need to re-apostille birth certificates and marriage certificate again?

Yes, we needed to re-order all documents and have them re-apostilled since all of our documents had expired from our initial March 2023 application.
Depending on how slowly the process goes from here we may need to do it again!
We had to re-apostille all birth certificates, marriage certificate, FBI checks, proof that our girls were in school full time and proof that our girls were single. Nothing had changed from when we intially ordered these documents back in March 2023 but we needed to get all updated documents and apostilles for our November 2025 biometrics appointment.
And, for the record, we still have not heard back from them as of today, April 10, 2025.
For my kids, there is no need to get their birth certificate again, as clarified by our lawyer. They also inquired whether there has been any change in the marriage status. If there hasn’t been, then there is no need to obtain a new marriage certificate. However, for the Police Clearance Certificates and any other documents (if any of your children are adults), you will need to obtain all new documents.
Henley is an overpriced middleman
I feel if it makes someone more comfortable with the process then let them. Not everyone feels comfortable with dealing with this all on their own.
