Donation Golden Visa

Hello,
I have two questions:

  1. If I want to apply for Portugal’s Golden Visa under the donation category, how can I access the list of eligible projects?
  2. Some companies offered me a partnership where they will create five jobs, and instead of requiring an investment of €500,000, they are only asking for €250,000 and I will have benefit from the company. Is this a good option, or is the donation route better?
    Thanks

Sounds like a scam within the larger scam (unfortunately) that Portugal Golden Visa has become.

Hey,

Were you able to go through with the donation route? If you were , please do elaborate which Foundation you chose and why!

Thanks!

Please re-consider your decision about Portuguese Golden Visa in general. The programme has not been delivering on its promises already for several years, and is getting progressively worse. You will simply part with your money with little to show for it in a foreseeable future. I believe Hungary might have a better option if all you need is a residency card.

I used to think that atomic bomb is the most destructive thing in the world. The moment I knew about PT GV via Donation Route, I changed my mind. If you are really seeking a new way of euthanasia, feel free to try PT GV Donation Route. I am sure that it won’t disapppoint you…

There used to be a poster here went by ohbee who had some strong thoughts about the donation route.

I am sure you could resurface his old posts.

Most people will tell you to not donate because of the inefficiencies of Portugal and the whole Golden Visa scam and that you are throwing your money away. Remember, these are the same people who put $500,000+ into the same Portugal economy expecting a solid return. They are getting maybe 7-8% before the management fees of 1-2% plus other fees. Maybe walking away in 7 years with 200K profit. Putting the extra 250K you save not doing that and putting into something like VTI getting 9-10% with negligible fees gets you 200K after 7 years too. And you dont tie up all that money if you need it - like many are needing trying to leave their funds and the GV program.

I went the donation path. I would look for some rural projects that come up once and awhile. Its a way to get that 250K down to 200K.

Everything you say is absolutely right, with one exception: the programme itself is stalled and in disarray. If you were to receive the residency card on time as promised, then it makes sense. Unfortunately, you do not, and this pattern is not likely to improve in the near future.

FYI, I used to be an avid optimist about this programme…
