Interesting strategy of filing the applications in person to avoid the preliminary review.
I do wish the constitutional court would just make it legal to file before all requirements are met as that would serve as a solution to extremely long processing timelines.
Yeah, I am not sure what that statement really meant
Sounds like some lawyers bashing the other lawyers.
And @nnl has just submitted early online so whatâs with the âpre-assessmentâ? (although if I were him I would have waited at least until mid-April for the A2 but the best of luck to him anyway)
100%
As for early, the government has already signaled that they plan to reject these. Can this be appealed? Maybe.
I am not so sure about the âpre-assessmentâ. Are you telling me that IRN has AI built into its systems that scan the filings and determines if they are adequate? I donât believe it. Possibly they mean a âself certification processâ?
Where did you spot that? Can you share the source?
Of course not. And how can IRN do the âpre-assessmentâ of the 5-year term of the candidate if they need to obtain this info in the form of CdT from AIMA, which in itself takes 3 years?
Thatâs why I said what I think it is ![]()
I assume itâs not as simple as counting 5 years from the issue date of your TĂtulo de ResidĂȘncia that you enter (honestly, obviously) on the IRNâs Modelo 6.1 application form?

Presumably the online platform that lawyers use to file Nationality applications checks that date??
This date is irrelevant because the 5 years are counted from the date of application, not from the date of the first card issuance.
That beside the point that the card data entered here would NOT be the first card in most cases.
Thanks @tommigun, thanks for the wishes. Trust me, I would have waited too. But mid-April, the course concludes and the certificate issuance takes longer. I just took a chance.
They did not say this explicitly, but was some new procedures shared in a recent meeting of stakeholders. Unfortunately I dont have a link or transcript of the meeting.
if this was asked-answered before, sorry for the repetition.
in person over-the-counter citizenship applications, do they check the initial application date (paid DUC) during the intake at IRN?
2024 âresidency clock starts from initial applicationâ ruling was never regulated, therefore I believe the date still refers to the first card on the application.
You believe wrong..
hi Tommy. so, resident since date on the citizenship application is now (since 2024 April) the initial application date, is that right?
No, in the case of ARI itâs the date of the initial application analysis DUC payment.
got it, I should have explicitly stated ARI above.
IRN USER MANUAL FOR LAWYERâS ONLINE SUBMISSIONS
Dropping this here in case someone finds it useful to know what the online submission process and interface looks like for lawyers.
Great find! ![]()
Couple interesting bits in that deckâŠ
Based on new information and session Schedueled in April, what do you guys guestimate is the last date to submit early application under the current regime/law?
I am trying to delay it as much as possible and submit at last minute/day to get highest chance. I complete 5 years from date of application in December 2026 so about 8 months early still.
Good news is that your 8 months are not really that in the Parliamentâs calendar, due to the summer recess from approx 15 Jun to Sep, so itâll be more like 6-7 months. But still a lot I know..
15 June is a ways from now, it seems like they might get something done before then.
