I was able to renew my visa online as the primary applicant. Does anyone know when spouses will be able to renew online? I have a trip to PT in April and would like to renew hers prior so that the time in country counts towards the next next renewal.

Did you make it on the website of the former SEF?
… I had been waiting for online renewal on the website. But suddenly I received an email from SIGA in December, so visited there a few days ago but was told to go to AIMA/SEF (at Marques). I paid 605.10 euro and registerred my finger print, took a picture, then was requested to send the documents by CTT. Now, I am preparing those.
But the bank will charge 225 euro to issue the documents (Declaração Fundos & Declaração da Unidade Gestora). You renewed online, but didn’t need to submit those, right? You just clicked like “next”-> “next”, then paid the fee, correct? If so, it’s much easier and cheaper. -
When was your expriry date (or the valid date)?
… I belive it is the moment to get a chance of online renewal of the holders whose expiry is July 2024, or around that time.

Kay the in person appointment is €605.10. For myself, my attorney just did an online renewal (no need to visit) and it cost €177.70. I am hoping at some point my wife can do the online renewal and not have to visit PT just to get fingerprinted.

When your card was expired and when it was renewed online, can you please share this info, it will help for understanding others situation.
@AlamoMustang , ok, I guess you are a holder of “realestate-based” GV, then the status was changed to D2, right? Mine is a “fund-based” which will maintain the original status (somehow), that’s the reason of difference, I think…(?) Anyway, I checked the SEF website now, but can’t still do auto-renewal.
My card expired in early 2024. I had an appointment to renew and then the online option came available which I did in July2024.
I am in a fund based golden visa.

They’ve apparently stopped online renewals, according to the AIMA meeting with lawyers yesterday. All back to in person now.
