Few hours after the appointment, I logged into Portal Renovacoes accounts of my dependents again. Thanks God!!! New address is now truly updated in the system.

Has anyone had success submitting a request on the new portal for a spouse or dependent renewal?
I had my (main investor) renewal through the old face-to-face system back in January and that still hasnât been processed, so I wonder if thatâs why we canât create do any family renewals yet.
We finally managed to get an account set up, but now canât get past this error when we try to create a spouse renewal request.
I can no longer login to my account on renewal portal. Is there an issue still for some people?

After 24 hours of the appointment, I received an email from AIMA notifying that the appointment was cancelled. =))))))))))))))). What a joke!

Maria, this is great news! I had the same issue and I had to create the account again and when I logged in my Despacho is corrected to H77 and I could create a new renewal application using the main applicant info as you see below. Does anyone know how much time I have to gather all my documents and what the timelines for each step is? I hadnât started anything since the portal was not working!
Does anyone know what is the list of documents for the dependents? I applied for NISS online but got rejected because my residency permit is expired! Any solution to that?

And I already got the email for the payment! I hope there is no tight deadline as I need to get some of my documents from Canada!

Can you go to renewal portal and schedule new appointments now?
Thank you for the update. I have an appointment with AIMA on April 13th, and now I feel hopeless. Iâm stressed because everything is at a standstill. My AIMA account is acting up; I canât log in or recover it.A complete disappointment with this country: Lost money, lost time, lost energy.

Sorry to hear that. So you are not able to create the account again? It worked for me but now I am wondering how to get the situação contributiva without a lawyer. Anyone could get through this step by explaining they do not live in the country?

I canât see your images. I got an error that my information did not exist, so I clicked on âCreate Accountâ and was able to create my account again. When I logged in, the previous issues I had were fixed.

Scott, what did you do for the situação contributiva? My AT/SS Status shows as Exempt as well. So thinking that an explanation that I do not live in Portugal and am exempt is enough.

Thanks again for the list. Is the marriage certificate for spouse and birth certificate for children not needed for renewal anymore?

My address on AIMA is my lawyerâs address that I will not be using for renewal. Does anyone know if I have to change that? Is it possible to have an address outside Portugal on the card? Not sure how hard of a process that is and if I should just leave the address be and ask the lawyer to mail the card to me!

I saw instructions on how to register for an address change on the AIMA website. The address must be changed before you register for card renewal. The card will be sent to the address you registered, so I think you shouldnât leave your address outside of Portugal.

By the way, thank you again for suggesting I recreate my account. After many attempts, I was fortunate enough to recreate my own account, but I still canât recreate the account of my child who is under 18.

The investor also renewed directly at AIMA in October 2025 but still hasnât received the card. Iâm renewing online for dependents. Before my AIMA account was lost, I had a similar situation. After recreating the account, in this section I entered the most recent card number and the investorâs NIF number. Luckily, one dependent has reached the payment stage. Dependents under 18 years old havenât been able to have their accounts recreated yet. To be sure, try entering all the investorâs card numbers.
That is great, you are welcome. Does your child have a NIF? Looks like I need to apply for my kidsâ NIF since it is a required field when creating an account.
