I wanted to share that I’ve now submitted my court case and am hoping to receive my first permit sometime in 2026. Fingers crossed 
— I’d love to hear from anyone who has gone through a similar process and can share whether this timeline sounds realistic.
I’m also considering relocating to Lisbon around September 2027 and would really appreciate your insights on affordable schooling options. I have three children (ages 14, 12, and 6) and am exploring private, international, or good‑quality public schools.
My children have always attended IB programs in international schools, but as I’m planning this move without a secured job initially, affordability will be an important factor. My priority is to ensure a smooth academic and emotional transition for them while I independently cover school costs until I secure employment in Lisbon.
I’d also be very happy to connect with other expat parents currently based in Lisbon — to exchange experiences, learn from your journeys, and better understand schooling and family life on the ground.
Any recommendations, advice, or connections would be greatly appreciated.
