PGV / ARI Rage, Tragedy, & General Madness

Dude! I am into poetry myself and without being conceited can proudly claim to write quite well.

But this right there what u posted is some serious form of expression. Nicely done!!

My ARI application has now turned 3 years old!

While a normal three-year-old can feed herself a bowl of cereal, walk up the stairs by alternating her feet, or even draw something resembling a person, my ARI application’s development is still stuck at the 18-month mark, which is the last time anyone from AIMA / SEF brushed the dust off my file. My ARI application cannot hold a short conversation, say her first name when asked, or talk well enough that strangers can understand her, but instead is stuck babbling incoherently due to chronic neglect.

Still, a birthday is a birthday…

Enterprises setup from scratch reach billion dollar capitalisation faster than an ARI application moving from final approval to card print.

By the way, I dont know why ur posts dont get flagged for violating community guidelines, why am I the only one getting short straw everytime?

No, my posts got flagged as well, which is highly unappreciated.

This is the official space for venting. I’m not threatening violence or insulting any of you personally. My criticisms of AIMA and Portuguese politicians are both hard-earned and well-deserved.

If you don’t like what is said on this thread, please stop reading it! The other 99% of Nomad Gate is your safe space.

I prefer being factually correct over being diplomatically or politically correct. If I am proven wrong or shown the error of my ways, I will accept and course correct. But this guerilla warfare of flagging posts in anonymity without raising the issue directly and making us understand their viewpoint, to me that is cowardice…sheer cowardice.

Recently there is a relevant numbers of posts which got flagged up. At the same time, there are several lawyers promoting themselves in this forum. If you connect all the dots, you can draw a conclusion who benefits the most from it. In my opinion, it is highly likely that something negative about PT GV will be deleted soon in this forum. I wish that I am wrong. However the reality is what we can logically see.

There are two separate groups of people in this forum. The first one is the GV investors who suffer the most. The second one is the people who know exactly the drawbacks of the PTGV but continue blowing the positive hopes in order to get more new investors.

If the governance protocol of NomadGate is structured correctly, it shouldn’t be possible for a minority of bad-faith actors to wage asymmetric warfare against the majority of good-faith users.

Otherwise, this site will fail, which would be exactly what those bad-faith actors want — without NomadGate, there is no place for potential and existing applicants to learn the truth that the user base knows, instead becoming easy prey for unscrupulous law firms, funds, and con artists.

AIMA’s plan to reduce the number of processing steps seems like the kind of concrete, actionable goal that will actually help speed up the process: AIMA's new GV process

Although being generally cautious, I will add that I will only fully believe it when I see it happening

I’m wondering what comes first, my Portuguese GV or Mars citizenship

Whether it bodes well or not, it proves that it’s completely unnecessary for us to be waiting years after biometrics for final approval!!!

It’s the best time to invest in the last 5 years at least for so many reasons.

  1. No more COVID delays, the process got streamlined.
  2. Open subscription funds are available and proven, allowing to invest in stocks, rather than risky assets
  3. So many lawyers are available to help
  4. All other European countries have closed the golden visa program for citizenship. And who knows for how long the Portugal will be allowed to keep this program.

My posts got flagged for presenting a different point of view when people started saying loving in Mexico is better than living in Europe. Oh welp. I was also labeled a troll who got banned 3 times before.

Some users on this site are paranoid.

Haha, you think the delays were only due to COVID…

I suppose they’d best hurry up if they want to do that!

Resale values for high-end property will suffer, especially on the Costas and Ibiza.
Buyers should wait until this is implemented (if it actually becomes law) then become EU-resident and pick-up a bargain imo.

15% of AIMA appointments are unfilled due to a ā€œlack of applicantsā€, and they still can’t be bothered to review our ARI applications!

The last four years I’ve wondered several times if I was stupid for sinking money into the GV just for the optionality.

Welp, feeling much less stupid now.

I still wonder if I was stupid for sinking money into PGV because to this day, I have absolutely no result in my hands at all, and no idea when one is coming.

Even if a result does come, Schengen and the EU are in much worse shape now than 2021 when I invested.

But every other move I’ve made to provide optionality, I regret nothing. If anything, I under-reacted.

Can’t blame Portugal for having taken our collective intelligence for granted but this is really pushing the limits.
